Additional info & updates

01/06 - Decided to visit UVA since it is my top realistic choice. I am so glad that I did; my wife and I love Charlottesville. After a wonderful meeting with Director Faulk and a tour of the school and area, I decided to switch my application to ED. 10 minutes later, Director Faulk called me and I was in. I am very excited and yet it feels a weirdly anti-climactic end to my cycle. I now have to withdraw from the ridiculous amount of law schools I applied to.

01/06 - Email from George Washington and I am in. Definitely excited to break the top 20. However I am really considering switching to ED at UVA. Making these decisions are awesome and they suck all at the same time.

01/05 - Went to Georgetown for group interview and I was held for later review the same day. Somehow not exactly a waitlist but it is.

12/23 - Received a wonderful hand-written note and acceptance through USPS Priority from Indiana Bloomington. Full non-resident tuition scholarship contingent upon maintaining good status. Very exciting and a great place for my family. These decisions might be tough!!

12/20 - Received email acceptance from Wake Forest this morning.

12/16 - *Later that day* Just received a call from a wonderful lady at George Mason. I'm in! This is getting exciting.

12/16 - First acceptance comes from Penn State via email. Its nice to have that out of the way! Hopefully first of many. Scholarship info coming in January.

My personal statement was relatively straight-forward, however it ended with a controversial issue. So we shall all see how I fare :)

I applied to so many schools for several reasons. I will have to move my family regardless of where I get accepted, and we could see ourselves living in many different locations. More importantly, I hope to receive some scholarship offers to consider. I figure my chances are better, if I cast a wide net. If I had to pick a number 1 besides the ridiculous reach, I am really interested in UVA's JD/MA history program. However, It would be unfair to my family not to consider all scholarships, if any are offered. I can't wait to hear back from some of the schools!!
