Extra Curricular Information

Average softs - nothing particularly unique, strong LORs, and in my biased opinion, a good personal statement

Additional info & updates

10/27- Lots of CRS fee waivers the last few days including PT invite from Duke. Waiting for my last LOR and then hoping to get applications out shortly thereafter.

11/02- Just got my last LOR in today and submitted everywhere except Yale. Now it's a long, long waiting game.

11/14- On the 10th day, Duke said yes (without a 'Why Duke'). I knew I was a Blue Devils fan for a reason.

11/30- Got home to an acceptance letter from Georgetown this morning. Love DC so I think a visit might be in order.

12/5- KB1 email! Beyond elated!

12/8- Had my KB1 earlier this morning - pretty standard, think it went okay. Here's to hoping I hear from her again soon!

12/13- NYU status checker says 'decision letter sent.' Couldn't be more pleased!

12/14- KB2!!! I can't even express how excited I am. Dream come true!

12/15- Decided to withdraw from Duke and Georgetown. Love both schools, but with my other acceptances there's little chance that I would attend and I'd rather open up a spot for someone who is more likely to enroll.

1/03- After nearly two months of procrastinating, I finally submitted my app to Yale. I have no expectations, but figure it's worth the hail mary...

1/06- Just got the call from Dean Deal - in at Stanford! I genuinely thought I was going to be waitlisted/rejected, so this is quite the pleasant surprise. So excited!

Also, I'll be withdrawing from NYU shortly.

1/13- Waitlisted at Chicago. Meh.

1/17- Withdrew from Chicago.

1/27- VCE just arrived in the mail with a Hamilton! Absolutely stunned to have so many incredible choices. This cycle has far exceeded my expectations.

3/30- Rejected by Yale via email. Somewhat disappointed, but not at all surprised. Glad to be done waiting and am eager to visit Stanford and then finally come to a decision.

4/26- Coming to a final decision was hard, but I'm happy to say that I'll be going to Harvard next fall. Columbia's scholarship was incredibly generous and Stanford's program is amazing, but at the end of the day, Harvard is the best fit for me and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to attend.

Feel free to PM me with any questions about my softs, cycle, decision, etc. After all this site has given to me, I'm more than willing to give a little back.

Hah, thanks. And I couldn't care less about Duke football - it's all about the basketball. The first year I started watching college hoops was the year the Shane Battier/Jay Williams Duke team won the NCAA title and I've been on the bandwagon ever since.
