Extra Curricular Information

About me: 8 years military experience, some Masters credits, charity work, numerous leadership positions. Not URM, but diversity of sorts.

Thrilled to attend UVA! It wasn't my first choice at the start of the cycle, but everything I've learned since then has made me sure it's the right place for me.

Lessons learned:
-For vets, service2school.org is a must! Get yourself an "ambassador!"
-I wish I had known about Top-Law-Schools.com before I started applying. It's a little tough to get into, but it helped me with visits and waitlists.
-Outside of HYSCCN, if I showed a lot of interest, I got in. If I didn't, it was a tossup. Hence I got into 3 T14s, but not USC or UCLA. If I had to do it all over I would have visited every school in which I was remotely interested in September. I would have written a "Why X" essay for every application.
-I'm fairly confident applying in Oct/Nov helped.
-Ask for fee waivers everywhere. Almost every school gave it to me for active duty status. Worst they can say is no. Schools give out a lot of fee waivers at the LSAC Forums.
-Always do the optional essays and optional interviews.
-Since I have a full ride basically everywhere thanks to the GI Bill, I might have applied ED to NYU or CLS.
