Good Luck to Everyone!!!!! We have all been working hard at this!

I checked my LSDAS report and apparently the average GPA at my school was 3.03, putting me in the 48th percentile of all students. How could this be if my grades were consistently higher than the class averages, usually by 5-10 percentage points. I took the class averages of all my undergraduate courses and calculated a GPA of 2.7. It's not fair!!!! Why should the engineering faculty be allowed to have a lower median GPA than the school at large? Especially given the fact that engineering students are typically viewed as being more academically competent coming out of high school than others (by this I just mean that it is more difficult to get accepted into an engineering program compared to most other programs). Anyways, I've gotten over my bitterness and moved on.

I took the LSAT again in February and I'm patiently waiting to get my score back. I think I did well, so that might be the ticket to get into some of these reach schools considering my crappy GPA. I just broke down on the June 2006 LSAT. I scored 10 wrong on the first LR section. I've never, in the history of my studying for the LSAT (and I've studied a lot), scored 10 wrong on LR. I just got so freaking nervous and I couldn't deal with it. When you put so much pressure on yourself (I had been studying since January 2006 and I took the two weeks before the test off at work) then I guess this kind of stuff is bound to happen.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
I also applied to 10 Canadian schools. This cycle was really overkill for me. With a 161 and my less than stellar GPA, I was pretty sure that I wasn't going to be accepted to any schools in Ontario, so I applied to a large number of safety schools, which now look sort of ridiculous given that I have a 169. Its a lot harder to know your acceptance prospects for Canadian schools. The depth of information doesn't even come close to what American schools offer. All they really tell you is the median GPA and the median LSAT scores of last year's incoming class.

My Canadian schools are:
Osgoode [rejected]
University of British Columbia [accepted]
University of Western Ontario [accepted]
Queen's University [withdrawn]
University of Ottawa [rejected]
University of Windsor [waitlisted]
University of Calgary [accepted] - Withdrawn
University of Alberta [rejected]
University of New Brunswick [accepted] - Withdrawn
University of Saskatchewan [accepted] - Withdrawn

Got my new LSAT score back today. At 169 its a whole new ball game.

03-05-07
Acceptance from Miami. I'm in! I'm going somewhere!

03-12-07
E-mail from Rutgers saying I've been accepted. I also got an e-mail from the Unviersity of British Columbia inviting me to an 'admitted applicant' day. It's a huge relief to have been accepted in Canada. Don't know what I'm going to do yet, but its good to have some options.

03-14-07
I got a call from George Mason University telling me that they've accepted me.

03-19-07
Got the Rutger's package in the mail. I've been offered $10,000 for the first year which is renewable given I earn a 3.0 in my first and second years.

03-22-07
Got acceptance by e-mail from Houston.

03-26-07
Received packet in the mail from George Mason. Got a call from Loyola Chicago congratulating me on my admission. Got to love the calls! Really makes you feel good.

03-27-07
Checkd the online status checker for UOttawa. Those guys rejected me. I can't believe it. That school does not give the LSAT much weight.

04-02-07
Got package in the mail from Cardozo offering me $17,500 per year renewable with a 3.3 GPA. On the same day, I got another package from Cardozo asking me to consider applying to their school and that they'd waive the application fee. Looks like they need to improve upon their intradepartmental communication

04-05-07:
Got two offers in the mail today, Chicago-Kent and Southwestern. Southwestern offered me a full tuition scholarship and Chicago-Kent offered me $20,000 scholarship renewable with a 3.250 GPA. Even though Southwestern is Tier 3, and I'm hoping to go to Tier 1, going to school for free is always a great option.

04-06-07:
It's good friday and for some strange reason I couldn't keep myself away so I logged onto the online status checker for the University of Alberta and the application status changed from Pending to Quota Filled. This is my second rejection. Alberta only considers up to the December LSAT so I'm not very surprised.

04-10-07:
Got an acceptance letter from Houston in the mail. Once again it got here late because the postage was wrong on the letter. Domestic postage for an international letter. This has happened a million times now. I've been offered in-state tuition with an $8,000 per year scholarship renewable with a 2.9. I think this is my #1 United States option right now. University of Saskatchewan acceptance in the mail too.

04-11-07:
Got the Stetson package. No money?!?! wow.

04-12-07:
I e-mailed Cardozo to tell them I would not be attending. I cited the high cost of tuition living in Manhattan. The Dean had my application reviewed and increased my scholarship from $17,500 per year to $27,500 per year. This is enough for me to put down a seat deposit. But nothing is certain as of yet. With the extra money, Cardozo is edging out Houston as my #1 US choice.

04-16-07:
Got small envelope from Emory today telling me that I've been waitlisted. This is the first US school that hasn't accepted me. Emory is the highest ranked school that I applied to, but with scholarships from other schools I can't justify paying $37,000 a year in tuition for Emory.

04-17-07:
Waitlisted at Loyola. What?!

04-24-07:
Got Chapman in the mail. Offering me a full ride.

04-25-07:
Got University of Calgary acceptance in the mail. No thanks.

04-27-07:
Rejected at Osgoode. I knew it was coming, but it still hurts a little bit.

07-09-07:
I'm going to the University of Western Ontario
