Additional info & updates

Feb 11 - REJECTED from Notre Dame. Crazy conservatives. My theory is that they rejected me because I work at a hospital called "Beth Israel" Just a theory. That and the fact that my numbers kinda suck
Feb 8 - In at Maryland via small thin envelope.
Feb 8 - In at Catholic via E-mail, 15K a year scholarship. Only renewable if remain in top 25%
Feb 5 - In at American, big packet. no money info

Jan 30 - In at Villanova, small, thin envelope. no mention of scholarship

JaN 25 - Accepted to Temple! Big envelope. 36K over 3 years.

Jan 4 - Sent BC app.

Jan 2 - Finally finished my PS and got my application out to Temple. They sent me a fee waiver yesterday too so that worked out great.

Dec 2: Took the LSAT yesterday. Kinda sucked, not feeling good about it.

Random info:
Taking the LSAT Dec.1st. Pretty spur of the moment decision to attend law school so I'm freaking out.

I've been working as a cancer nurse in Boston and DC for the past 4 years.

Took a $1300 Kaplan class that now seems like a big waste of time. Once you learn a couple things, it then becomes 3 hours of sitting in a room with 20 undergrads who don't seem to care at all. No offense, undergrads.

More than just ethnicity, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, etc. Assuming you have at least one thing that distinguishes you from others (be it a particular experience, a hobby, or anything else), I would recommend writing about it.

I haven't gotten anything from MD re finaid, but I haven't filled out the FAFSA yet and I'm not an MD resident. Have you filled out your fafsa?

Maryland

Congrats on Maryland! I didn't apply for any specific scholarships. I think they just consider you when you send your application. It looks like we have really similar stats, so I'd guess there is a good chance you'll get an interview too. It seems like they like us science people!

BC!!!

Congrats on BC! I bet you are excited! I'm going to visit there next weekend, and I can't wait! Do you think you'll go there for sure? They are definitely one of my top choices! I just wish they would give me some money!

I completely understand. I visited BC and loved it. I got a smaller grant than you, but still pretty decent. I was thinking the cost difference between there and Madison was worth it, but today I got a $6,000 a year scholarship from Madison, and there is still the Maryland scholarship... I have no idea how to make this decision!!
