I have worked full time since my junior year of high school for a fortune 300 company. The majority of this experience has been in professional roles. I have been promoted several times a have received a number of individual and team awards. Some volunteer work but not as much as some of my counterparts with less work responsibility. Hoping schools can look past this.

Had a heavy workload (over 60 hrs/wk) during my first LSAT and really had no business taking it as I had not adequately prepared. Despite testing in the low 160s at that point, I scored a 155; obviously I was disappointed.

Strong letters of recommendation, first generation college student, and, in my biased opinion, a unique story.

Additional info & updates

03.26.13 - In at Fordy... Hoping for some money.

03.18.13 - Call from UofA's dean this past Friday. She was super friendly and gave me a good vibe. Came home to a letter stating I had been awarded a full-tuition scholarship. Just made my decision a lot more difficult.

02.25.13 - Granted another $5,000 per year from UCI. I've loved the school since it's opened and it's looking better and better every day. Hopefully I get a lot of movement in the next couple weeks so I can try and figure out where I will be living come August.

02.16.13 - $90,000 from Irvine! Couldn't be more thrilled!

02.12.13 - Several updates over the past week or so. Denied at Berkeley (top choice but completely unrealistic - maybe a transfer if I am lucky), Waitlisted at NU (AJD) - LOCI going out soon, Accepted at Irvine and Pepperdine. SoCal is where I want to end up so this is positive.

01.24.13 - In at Washington & Lee and University of Georgia!

01.18.13 - In at William & Mary with $$!

01.08.13 - Extended a job opportunity that will help ease the blow if I don't make it into a top school. I'm still going to play the cycle out and see what happens. Most of my apps are in. Any more apps will be via fee waiver.

01.02.13 - RC screwed me... 165. I am still going to cast a wide net and play the cycle out. I would really like to be in law school this August but won't settle for any schools outside T35 except Loyola with $$$. If it doesn't work out, I'll retake one last time in June and get my apps in early.

12.03.12 - Took the LSAT this past Saturday and feel pretty positive. I can't imagine a sub 165 but you never know. With a favorable curve, hoping for 170ish.

11.26.12 - Vandy interview went amazingly well. My interviewer was impressed and told me to try to come as close to their median LSAT as possible. I feel like a LSAT score in the high 160s gets me in when coupled with my softs.

10.19.12 - Visited a law fair and discussed my options and chances with my top ranked schools. Some schools seemed rather confident that I can overcome my lower GPA by highlighting my upward trend and the fact I have worked full time since high school. Additionally, my graduate degree and work experience should play in my favor. After these discussions, I feel quite optimistic about some schools, less so for others. I look forward to seeing what this cycle holds.

10.15.12 - Interview with Northwestern went very well. Pretty basic questions, all of which I felt prepared to answer. I feel my work experience really assisted in this regard and believe that this interview will only prove beneficial on my application. Still need to shore up my PS but my resume is solid.

10.01.12 - Decided to postpone LSAT until December. My score was still improving and I would rather wait it out and shoot for a 170. Most recent prep tests in the 167-169 range. Going to continue to study hard and achieve my goal. With my GPA, I need to focus on getting my LSAT as high as possible.

09.12.12 - Preliminary application list is up pending LSAT. I will cut it down to about ten schools once I have a clearer picture of where I lie. I have a ton of reach schools and that likely won't change as I have no desire to enter a poor legal market with a degree from a second tier school. If my LSAT is below expectations I will likely quit my job and take it one last time in December. Based on practice tests, I don't expect this.

There are a lot of reasons, but the main ones are that I'm targeting biglaw and Penn has been better than any school outside of YSHC in biglaw placement over the past five years and looking at past cycles they seem to give a massive ED boost.

Thanks

Good luck with the LSAT retake next month - I retook after a 2-year break and was really grateful I did!

Congrats on your acceptances. Did Irvine give you any information regarding scholarship money?
