I wrote a very strong GPA addendum. I think this made a big difference for my app. Here are the details:
1. Princeton is notorious for its "grade deflation" policy.
2. Two years as a physics major with terrible GPA; two years as classics major with great GPA.
3. I have 2.5 years of grad work with a straight 4.0.

SCHOLARSHIPS are totals. I did negotiate a little, but not posting details to protect school privacy. PM me with questions.
Columbia, NYU, and Penn strung me along forever with schoalrships. Penn NEVER gave me an answer, which sucks because I would have gone there over Harvard. The other schools were great about fast replies, even if the answer was no.

2013-11-16 In at DUKE priority track by e-mail. I'm going to law school!

2013-12-16 In at CARDOZO via phone call. Notified of full scholarship while on phone. Wow!

2013-12-17 In at NYU by phone call (around 6 PM). Thrilled!

Mid-December in at GEORGETOWN by snail mail and BOSTON COLLEGE be e-mail.

2014-01-08: Found out I'm in at MICHIGAN via status checker. Material is in the mail. (Edit: 75k scholarship by snail mail late January)

2014-01-30 Got blue snail mail acceptance from COLUMBIA today. Letter mailed on Jan. 24th.

2014-01-31 In at PENN. So excited, Penn is one of my top choices. UR1 12/3, UR2 1/28.

2014-02-10 In at EMORY via snail mail. Letter came with 96,000 scholarship, which is about 2/3 tuition.

2014-02-20 In at HARVARD and BOSTON U. on the same day. HARVARD interview was December 11th, so it's been a long wait.

2014-02-25 E-mail rejection from YALE followed by snail mail. Waitlist from CHICAGO. Withdrew in April. I like Chicago, but didn't want to hog up a spot on WL when I had other good choices so withdrew.

2014-03-12 Waitlisted at UVA, promptly withdrew.

2014-04-30 Committed to HLS while Stanford still pending. I'm going to be a Harvardian (probably).

2014-05-01 DLS at STANFORD. Probably a rejection, but could be WL. I sent a LOCI in mid Feb.
