Additional info & updates

12/26- I can't believe this! U of H waitlisted me and UT deferred me to regular admissions. Okay, something is wrong here. Oh well, I still have a chance at SMU, Baylor, and UT. And anyhow, speaking to some attorneys, I hear that as long as you pass the bar and make law review, it isn't important where you go to law school unless it is a top 10 school. The women I spoke to at Texas Tech were sooo nice and very helpful!

3/17/07 - Admitted to Spring 2008 class at Baylor. Not sure if I want to take the scholarship at Tech and go there (the people and faculty were AMAZING) or to go to Baylor. Baylor is higher ranked, but I hear that it is overly competitive and rigorous. Any advice???

thanks for the comment. yeah, no worries about not getting into UH... i think they're not really factoring in soft factors into their first cut. i kinda like the city of denver better too. but good luck, i hope you get into where you want!

I feel your pain on that UH waitlist. It definitely took me by suprise since almost everyone who heard back was accepted. It's still pretty early though, and a lot can happen. Good luck on the rest of your apps!

TT

Congrats on TT, and the 8k scholly really helps as well. I noticed you applied to a lot of TX schools, are you from here? If so, TT is a really decent option especially if you can qualify for instate tuition. I was shot down from UH, and I'm still waiting a decision from TT and some Florida schools. Good luck with the remainder of your apps.

Texas Tech

I definately feel a lot better about Lubbock after the trip. And unless UF makes their mind up pretty quickly (and maybe even then), I think its a definate for me. Good luck on your other apps and let me know what you finally decide. It would be nice to know someone on the first day! Scott

Congrats

Congrats on Baylor. The only advice I can send your way is that it is expensive!!! I am still waiting to hear from them, but 33k just in tuition is a lot of money, even with the higher ranking. I am pretty much locked in at Tech, I know I have no shot at a scholly from Baylor, so with out it, I can't imagine dropping 120k+ in debt for the difference in ranking. I know that for me, Tech is the better option. Good luck either way you decide. Scott
