Extra Curricular Information

My info, as promised (numbers corrected, too):

Interned at the White House and also spent two summers interning with the U.S. Dept of State at the American Embassy in Rome. Also worked as Deputy Director of Trips on 2012 Obama campaign in NC, and as an intern at the U.S. House of Representatives.

I am proficient in Italian and have also studied at least two years of each Spanish, German, and French.

Both recommendations came from Davidson professors who know me well and who I am still close to. I read one of them and it was beautiful.

One minor undergrad/underage alcohol-related C&F issue that I was required to disclose only at Duke and UVA.

Visited all of my schools at least once, most of them two or three times, and made an effort to network with admissions staff.

Family ties at Harvard and Columbia-ish (sister at Barnard).

Softs may help on the margins, but...don't count on them. They're no substitute for a high LSAT/GPA combo. Hope this is useful for future applicants.
