Extra Curricular Information

Had a full time job all through college, eventually promoted to mgmt. after my freshman year.

First person in my entire family (both sides) to even think about attending college, much less attend. Parents hardly graduated from HS, grandparents didn't.

Basically, I was just happy to be in college, not very focused on making excellent grades or being terribly involved. Went to a huge school, got lost in the zillions of students there, didn't seek proper advisement, changed my major three times. Ending up having a double major simply because I took so many classes and had enough credits..... geez

Since graduating (barely) I have been working in personal finance, and am very successful in my field. Manage a $35 million pipeline that I have personally built through nearly 5 years of hard work. 100% commission, referral based, heavy quota. Numerous promotions, awards, etc.

Make great money for what I do, but I'm not fulfilled. Have always wanted to go to law school, and have saved enough money over the past 5 years to where I can quit my job and go to school full time.

Some volunteer work, church involvement, nothing special.

Additional info & updates

Took December LSAT.... thinking I may need to take it again in February, we shall see.

Thanks for the comment! Looking forward to beginning this cycle. I've also taken Kaplan - didn't really love it, but the amount of problems they give you is worth the money! Good luck on the September test, I will also be taking it!

Having a low GPA isn't fun, is it. http://officialguide.lsac.org/SearchResults/SchoolPage_PDFs/LSAC_LawSchoolDescription/LSAC6660.pdf I figured I'd pass this link along, though you already may have seen this. At the bottom it has a great breakdown of SMU's admitted students. (By LSAT/GPA) Good news is that SMU is quite forgiving towards low GPA's. It looks like a 165+ pretty much gets you in. As for my cycle, I just got my Letters of rec. set, so basically I'm working on my personal statement. I wrote one already, which centered around my decision to go to law school instead of becoming a teacher. (I'm graduating this spring with a teaching license.) But, I just don't really like the topic that much/think it came out kind of lame. So I'm starting over..... Hopefully, I like the new one a little better :)
