Additional info & updates

extenuating circumstances for grades - good work experience after graduation.

3/15: BF got in to UNC MBA! hopefully I will hear from my NC schools soon...

3/17: my dad called to tell me my Boalt Hall rejection came to my permanent address...sad, but I can't complain too much since it is only my first rejection.

3/27: In at Hastings! They didn't even tell me officially...I just got an email 'reminding' me about ASW. So before I got too excited, I checked the status checker and there it was - admitted! yay!

3/28: no news yet today, but I sent in additional LORs to UW, UCLA, and UVa

4/2: I got an invite to Davis admitted students weekend without being notified that I was admitted yet...

4/3: email from Duke re: waitlist. This was sort of a surprise, since my BF who applied in October still hasn't heard and I expected to get rejected...who knew?

5/15: in at NULS! woohoo! But now I have to decide what to do about UC hastings...family is all in SF and I want to practice there eventually...well I can't really complain I am in at Northwestern!!

Just wanted to wish you luck in your cycle! I saw your post in the Splitters' thread, and I have a soft spot in my heart for real splitters. I was in a similar situation last cycle (super low gpa with a pretty fair set of extenuating circumstances, high LSAT, lots of post-college credentials) and ended up with some great acceptances. Best of luck to you!

You'll do fine

We're in the same boat and have some schools in common. We'll see how the soft factors weigh out. Gotta think you'll get into Hastings and Davis at minimum, though.

Hey there, fellow splitter.

Don't sweat your applications too much. You've got a fantastic LSAT and if you've got a little time between that GPA and your app, they'll take it into account. From what I've read, Boalt is a very GPA heavy school, so don't let their decision discourage you. I've got almost exactly you're numbers (well, 2pts lower on LSAT) and this cycle has widly exceeded all of my expectations. I'm sure you're going to be opening quite a few large envelopes in the coming weeks.
