My softs are kinda whatever, nothing substantial I think. Worked in a small law firm for a short while. Interned for a non profit. Worked in retail all through college in addition to those. When I graduated I became a substitute teacher for a year. Volunteer tutoring occasionally. Was active in Phi Alpha Delta (pre law fraternity).
Transferred from a community college to a UC. Major in a social science.
Hoping to stay in Southern California but we'll see.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated =)

10/31 - turned in all my applications on Halloween. Now we wait...

11/6 - It's been about a week and I still have not received any confirmation emails from UNLV, Penn, or Southwestern so I called them up. UNLV and Southwestern said they won't be sending anything out for a couple weeks, but Dickinson said I should have received something already so they just resent it to me.

11/6 - Accepted to Western via phone call (hinted I would be getting almost full tuition)

11/6 - So I just got the email from Dickinson letting me know they received my application. Went to check my status and I was accepted! ($ in mail on 11/13)

11/11-McGeorge sent me an email that my app was incomplete. Apparently I didn't title my personal statement the way they wanted me to. So I have to resubmit it.

11/14- accepted to Santa Clara. Got the email at 6am on a Saturday. (letter about $ came later - postmarked 11/20)

11/16- Just got an acceptance phone call from Hawaii!

11/24 - acceptance email from Whittier then few hours later email about $

11/25 - admitted to chapman via status checker then phone call then separate email about $

12/4 - accepted to Davis via email then text from the dean ($ on 3/9)

12/7 - accepted to Southwestern via email (12/17 email about $)

12/8 - Accepted to Pepperdine via status checker then email with $

12/10 - accepted to SD via email! ($ email on 1/26)

12/14 - "admitted with honors" to mcgeorge via status checker, which also says I get full tuition +

12/18 - got letter from Chapman stating I got a full ride

12/21 - in at UNLV via email ($ info came in mail on the 24th)

12/22 - Loyola status changed to decision rendered - letter mailed

1/6 - email about admittance to Hastings (with $)

1/11 - Cal Western acceptance email (says I received scholarship)

1/19 - ND status checker reads decision made with no seat deposits listed, assuming this means I didn't get in.
2/10 - It's been 3 weeks and ND didn't send me anything. Called today and they emailed me the decision. Waitlisted.

2/13 - WL at Irvine via mail. Super bummed.

3/2 - WL at Tulane. Withdrew immediately.

3/4 - WL at USC via status checker

3/26 - just got my first rejection. ucla by email.

on your cycle so far. I'm thinking I'd love to make it out to the west coast myself so you're giving me a lot of hope! :-P Good luck on the rest of the schools; I'll be keeping an eye out

Just saying hi again. Looks like things are going well; congrats on the acceptances and scholarships! From a few things I've read, USD does unsolicited scholarship increases to keep up with other regional schools like LLS - hopefully! I think USD is one of my top choices too (along with Seattle)...but I should probably also get over there to visit first - this may also be the winter chill talking :-)

Hey Thanks! (I wish this thing was better about notifications.) Congrats on your cycle too - looks like it is going pretty well. It is getting to be decision time which is stressful! Are you still waiting to hear back from UCI etc before your final decision? I got to visit a good handful of my west coast options - I do have to say I loved it in San Diego and thought the school was pretty cool. Sadly it seems their scholarships are heavily skewed for full-timers and they couldn't do too much to help me out. Bummed me out as I think I would have loved it there. It is starting to look like Southern California may win out for me in the end still though. (LLS but still a very unofficial decision). Good luck in the final stretch and decision making!
