Additional info & updates

Student at Small, private Drake University (amazing school--helped me enormously) in Des Moines, Iowa pursuing degrees in Law, Politics, and Society and Rhetoric and Communication Studies. I am hoping to pursue a dual JD/MA in Communications.

My target schools are many given LSAC Waiver and currently include:
Tulane, UGA, UNC - Chapel Hill, U of Iowa, U of Washington, William and Mary, George Washington, UC Davis, Boston College, Boston University, Emory, Fordham.

Super-Reach Dream Schools: Boalt/Berkeley Law (Loved this school for over a decade--Hubert Dreyfus, John Searle, Judith Butler, Free Speech Movement, Heaven on Earth!), U Penn, Minnesota, Michigan, and UT Austin (Second dream and best option for JD/MA Comm--want to work with Josh Gunn or Dana Cloud). Keeping fingers crossed for the 2012 cycle.

As for areas of interest in the law, I refuse to pretend to have any concrete interests, but I do have dreams. For example, I dream of working with the ACLU/Drug Policy Alliance/Southern Poverty Law Center/Obtaining Skadden Fellowship/Various DC Lobbying). I hope and fully expect law school, like undergraduate school, to be a tough learning experience which will open my eyes to new possibilities and interests. Most important to me at schools are the class sizes, the student culture, and the faculty-student mentoring relationships. I want an adviser that gives me constant attention, so big schools may be out of the question. Advice is always welcome.
