Additional info & updates

Finally sent off my apps late in 2009. I got a few more fee waivers this week (Duke and Cornell) so I may apply there. Still haven't decided on whether or not I'll apply to Yale, Stanford and Columbia. Still haven't decided whether I'll go to school in Canada or the U.S. Leaning a bit towards Canada but its still wide open.

-Jan 5/2010 - In at UBC. My 1st choice as its in the city that I live and I've got a lot of incentive to stay here.

-Jan 22/2010 - JR1 email. Woo hoo!!!

Jan 31/2010- Got an email from Duke saying "You're In"

Jan 31/2010 - Decided to apply to stanford last minute.

-Feb 1/2010 - JR2 Phone call. "Welcome to Harvard"

-Feb 18/2010 - Interesting Day, got accepted by UCLA via a phone call from Dean Schwartz. Got an email from Georgetown saying I'm on the Priority WL. I don't think there is much of any chance I'll go to GULC anyways. I feel like not letting them know this in order to punish them for taking a long time in letting a # of other students know their status, but in respect to other applicants who are actually interested in Georgetown, I will probably let them know....

-Feb 24/2010 - Dinged at michigan via snail mail. Ouch! Not even a WL? Stanford is now the only school I'm waiting on. Wishing I sent in my app for stanford the same time I sent my others.

-Feb 25/2010 - Leaning a lot more towards school in the US now, hoping to get a chance to make a choice between HLS and SLS.

-Mar 18/2010 - I visited Harvard a little over a week ago. It's a very impressive school. Still undecided though, but I'd really love a chance to go visit Stanford. In my head, its my #1 choice, but I'd definetely need to see it to decide.

-April 10/2010 - I withdrew from the georgetown waitlist and from my duke acceptance today. Still hoping to get an acceptance from Stanford.

-April 19/2010 - Got my waitlist email from Stanford (dated April 12). I'm going to ride it out for a while, but I'm excited about attending Harvard in September.

-June 23/2010 - Withdrew from UBC. Still riding the Stanford waitlist.

Congratulations on the UBC admission, I know a number of people there and it's a great school. Just wondering, do you plan on practicing law in Canada or the U.S.?

hey, thanks. Congrats on Harvard that's awesome. For me it's come down to Toronto vs. Duke vs. Cornell (pretty much in that order). Its an issue of money and risk for me to stay in the U.S. I was really interested in UBC but the lady at admissions is a real treat, and the whole school seemed in limbo when I visted due to all the construction. Why did you only apply to UBC here in Canada?
