Additional info & updates

3/15 - Withdrew from a few more schools. Hastings was the most painful, but I hope it helps someone on their waitlist.

3/12 - Received letters from New Mexico and Oregon today, though UO would be more expensive than Lewis & Clark. Online status checker for UW changed to "Decision" -- now the real torturous waiting begins.

3/5 - March came quickly! I'm finally starting to narrow down my options, so I withdrew from a few schools. I'll probably withdraw from a few more within a week. Still waiting for that elusive UW response...

2/17 - UC-Hastings! This one was a surprise. I just looked up their tuition rates, though, and nearly fainted. Combine that with one of the highest costs of living in the U.S. ... Where are you, UW?

2/14 - Fantastic Valentine's present today from Lewis & Clark! $18,000/year as long as I keep a 2.95 GPA. I feel very lucky to have these decisions to make.

2/12 - Received an email from CU-Boulder congratulating me on my acceptance, though that was the first I'd heard from them since early January. I called and a very friendly, helpful woman in admissions said the packet was mailed on 2/6 and should arrive soon. Yay!

2/7 - Large, but thin, envelope from Santa Clara today, with $14,000 Emery Scholarship. I believe this is per year, but there was no information about the scholarship in the packet - no GPA/ranking requirement noted, nothing (though I assume one exists). Anyone know more about this particular scholly?

2/2 - Acceptance package from Loyola today, postmarked Jan. 30. Unfortunately, they are "unable to offer a scholarship at this time." Unfortunately, I am unable to afford $40,000 annual tuition at this time.

1/28 - Lovely letter from Miami today offering $23,000, renewable as long as I keep a B average. Anyone have any luck negotiating with, say, USD by using other schools' scholly offers? Also, online status checkers let me know that a decision has been processed at Lewis & Clark and Seattle U. Fingers crossed!

1/27 - Accepted to USD via big, but thin, envelope. I'm hoping scholarship information is to follow.

1/20 - Came home from vacation to a thick packet from the University of the Pacific with some nice scholarship money.

12/30 - Spent an ungodly amount of money applying to four more schools. (I suppose it's nothing compared with the alltogether unholy amount of money I'll be spending over the next three years)

12/29 - LSAT score came much higher than expected, a full five points higher than October's 158.

12/23 - Well, I have just about everything done for the holidays. That means I am free to spend my downtime at work furiously refreshing the LSAC site to see if my score will magically appear. At 7 p.m., I gave up. There is no Santa.

12/20 - Being accepted to Miami certainly helps with the pressure. I am indeed going to *some* law school!

10/27 - Committed to retaking the LSAT in December.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you are: working full-time and studying again for the Dec LSAT. Good luck with the balancing act!

Congrats on your acceptance to USD! Is it one of your top schools? Anyways the scholarship information came a good 2-3 weeks after the acceptance i want to say. So you definitely have some time!

wait for USD $$

I noticed your comments on other profiles regarding the wait to hear about USD scholarship money...I'm in the waiting phase right now and it is nervewracking! I got the same message regarding Loyola $ too...I guess that's what I get for applying "late." Boo!

Hey, I was just curious about where you attended undergrad. I'm a senior at the University of Denver and considering applying to Boulder next cycle. Thanks!
