Additional info & updates

Scholarship amounts are renewable per year depending on class rank.

I will share my numbers once all my decisions come in.

I guess this is where people journal their updates.

11/5/2009: Checking my status online for Boalt and Santa Clara, I noticed that I was accepted by Santa Clara. I hope it doesn't mean anything like "application accepted and ready for review." Now I am eagerly waiting for the actual package and news of a scholarship in the mail.

11/6: Santa Clara's status changed to "decision mailed." Back home, I found a packet from Santa Clara (postmarked 11/4)! Carefully opening the seal, I found my first acceptance letter to law school. I hope the other decisions come in before the deposit due date of 4/1/2010.

11/13: In @ Georgia and Baylor via online admission status checker

11/18: I got a letter from Baylor saying I can get a $21k scholarship per year as long as I maintain a 2.5 GPA. The dean is also "very [underscored] hopeful" that I will join them. Sweet but too bad I won't be going here.

12/2: Forgot to mention that I received a handwritten card from Baylor a few days ago :o

12/3: Received acceptance email from Cincinnati this morning. Got a call from one of Baylor's student ambassadors and asked for his number in case he already suspects I won't go to Baylor.

12/4: Received yet another letter from Baylor, this time from the chair of its admissions committee.

12/11: Got a $12k/year offer from Santa Clara only if I stay in the top 25%, not bad.

12/16: In Loyola via postal mail, complete with $22k/year scholarship provided that I maintain top 30%.

1/4: Phone call of acceptance from Cardozo with $18k (per year?).

1/11: The abovementioned Cardozo scholarship (Dean's Merit Scholarship) is indeed per year as denoted in the letter I received today. This also comes with a generous maintenance requirement of 3.300 GPA. 3.2 will get me 75%, and 3.1 will get me 50%. The full amount would be reinstated should I bring my cumulative GPA back up to 3.3.

I received a smaller envelope as well, from UCLA. Yes, my first rejection! Now I don't have to worry about staying in Socal in a school too competitive for me.

1/16: Received letters from USC ("Decision Finalized" 2-3 days ago via status checker) and Hastings: denied and accepted, respectively!

1/29: Thick envelope from UConn and letter envelope from Hastings with no scholarship info :[

2/5: Got a Tuition Reduction Scholarship in the mail from Georgia that gives me the resident rate for the first year.

In @ Davis via status checker! "Please keep in mind that about 91 percent of our students receive some form of financial aid, and all aid applicants receive packages sufficient to cover their costs." Seems a lot less expensive than Hastings :(

2/12: The letter dated 2/3 from UConn gave me $20k Dean's Scholarship for the first year.

3/5: $10k scholarship (highest offered?) from Hastings via email! sweet man

Apparently a lot of letters from Cincinnati have been going to my permanent address, and have the dean complimenting me on my resume and (lowish) GPA, complete with handwritten notes :)

3/26: Came back from Hastings' ASD this past weekend, which my parents seem to have enjoyed more. Today, I turned in the first $500 deposit to Hastings, so I will be attending there. I will still attend Davis' Open House on 4/10, though. It's more like a vacation than a business trip.

5/28: OMG, a decision made at Alabama! I am that much closer to completing my LSN profile including my stats.

6/1: Denied @ Alabama's "most competitive year"

Were the free iTunes codes worth the half-year wait?

Good luck on your cycle. I'm sure you'll get into at least one of your first choices.

nope, i didn't. i only did it for boalt, but otherwise i realized it was a lot of work and i was too lazy, i figured it'd be better to turn it in earlier rather than postpone another week

Just wondering...

What's the point of having a profile on Law School NUMBERS if you're not sharing your numbers?
