12/26: Submitted all applications (except for American U) on 12/21. Obsessing over it since then. Working on a response to a question about criminal convictions on the American application. Have to answer it because I paid over $150 for traffic infraction fines, boo. Will probably submit the application later today...
12/26: Later that day... Submitted my last application to American University.
12/28: Online status check indicates file complete at Villanova on 12/22. Online status check indicated application received at Loyola.
12/29: E-mail from USD, application received. Status date says 12/21.
1/5: Finally admissions people are back to work! Never thought I'd be excited for the holidays to be over haha. E-mail from American that they received my application and are requesting the LSDAS report. E-mail from Santa Clara that my file is complete and status check says it's "in committee." Status check at USD says file is complete. Hopefully more schools will be letting me know that my file's complete very soon.
1/6: E-mails from UConn and USD informing that my file is complete. Online status check at Loyola says file complete as of today.
1/7: E-mail from GMU that file is complete and I'll get the decision no later than 2/29/09, which is weird because I thought there were only 28 days in February this year...
1/8: Status check at Temple says file is complete (finally). Received one of my self-addressed, stamped envelopes from Rutgers with a note that says they received my application.
"Decision Rendered" at USD, but I don't know what it is yet. The graph here makes it look good though, because all I see is green on it. I also applied to the part time program, which I hear is easier to get in to, so I'm being optimistic for now.
1/10: It's official, I'm going to law school! USD. It's my last choice, but it's nice to know that I'm going no matter how the rest of my cycle goes. Ahh, relief...for now.
1/12: In at Rutgers. Notified via e-mail. Wasn't expecting that one so quickly.
Couldn't resist the temptation to apply at just one really big reach school, so just submitted an application to Fordham (PT).
1/14: Status checker date at Villanova changed from 12/22 to 1/12, but it still says "complete." Anyone know what that means??
Went complete at Fordham (status checker)
In at Villanova (status checker). I knew I'd find out today!
1/23: E-mail from American stating my application is complete. Seems like it's been so long since they received it, I just assumed it was complete. Anyway, it says that due to the volume of applications received it could take several weeks for them to get back to me. Bummer, but at least I know I'm not rejected (so far).
1/26: Decision mailed from Santa Clara (status checker). It's about time...
1/29: Phone call from George Mason. I'm in!!!! I would LOVE to go there and to live in the D.C. area. This is the most exciting acceptance yet!!
Got my acceptance letter from Santa Clara today too, but it's kind of anticlimactic considering it was a safety and I was accepted at one of my top choices today.
2/2: Found out via online status check that I'm in at Temple. Yay!! A large USPS admittance package from American was waiting in my mailbox today. This is going really well so far...so I decided to apply to GW too...
2/4: Went to decision at Loyola. Waiting for it in the mail now...
2/6: Waitlisted at Loyola. First one on LSN apparently. I was thinking about withdrawing anyway after I heard from GMU and American, but now that they're playing hard to get I kinda want to go there. Nah, I'll withdraw.
2/9: In at Connecticut. Small white envelope.
2/11: Complete at GW (e-mail). Been thinking about Loyola and still can't figure out why I'm the only one who's been waitlisted so far, or why they waitlisted me. I thought with the schools that have already accepted me, that Loyola was a pretty good shot. I'm now taking it as a sign that I should go out of state for law school, considering the other two I applied to in CA were safety schools.
2/20: Declined admissions at UConn, Santa Clara, and Villanova. I hate narrowing my options like this, but I know I won't be attending those schools. Bright side: I'm getting out of the way for waitlisters who really want to go to those schools, and that makes me feel better.
3/2: After what seemed like forever, I finally heard some news. First rejection: Maryland. Not surprised, not too bummed. I've been leaning GMU or American's way for a while now anyway.
3/11: Received a letter in a small envelope from George Washington inviting me to be on their waitlist. Heck yes I will.
4/17: Well I submitted a seat deposit to GMU, but am still on the waitlist at GW. Since it's past the deposit deadline for all/most of the other schools I applied to, I guess I withdrew from the rest. DC HERE I COME! I can't wait!
5/11: Finally got the decision from GW - rejection. Kind of relieved. I don't know how I would be able to afford GW and probably have to go part time. I like that GMU is a smaller school too. SOOO ridiculously excited about George Mason Law I can't even stand it right now!
Thanks for your support! I like GMU, so I think I'll stay on the waitlist and pray my way through. good luck with your cycle, though! I'm sure you'll end up in a great place.
