Extra Curricular Information

I decided to calculate the CoA (tuition fees cost of living) for all of the schools I'm applying to and subtract my scholarships. This is for 3 years because I'm factoring a change to in-state residency for the public schools. Info comes from the law schools' websites. Maryland's was a little confusing, so it may be wrong:

Tulane: $192,402 - $105,000 = $87,402

Miami: $186,792

FSU: $127,740 - $45,000 = $82,740

UF: $123,163.60 - $42,000 = $81,163.60

Pace: $189,168 - $84,000 = $105,168

Maryland: $146,792

Just like seeing how much debt I will be in :-/

Additional info & updates

2/1/12- Okay, I'm flipping out because my FSU status changed to "Decision made and will arrive by mail." Everyone I've look at who has specified was accepted by phone call. Granted, it's after 5:00 now so fingers crossed for a phone call tomorrow!
**UPDATE** Got the phone call--ACCEPTED!

2/2/12- Pace status changed to "File Completed Sent For Review"

2/6/12- Under initial review at Florida.

2/8/12- "File Reviewed, No Decision Reached" at Florida :(
-Decision mailed from Pace.
-Got admissions packet from FSU. No money (yet?).

2/13/12 - Admission packet from Pace arrived! Scholarship and financial aide info to be mailed separately.

2/15/12 - Status changed to "In Review" at Maryland. It never actually said "Complete" or if it did I missed it. Finally, some movement though. Still "File Reviewed, No Decision Reached" at Florida. I don't really understand Miami's system, but as far as I can tell no movement.

2/15/12 - Letter in the mail from Pace telling me I have been awarded $28k/year! That's a significant chunk of change. Not sure how to feel about them since they're the worst ranked overall school I'm applying to, but they're the highest ranked in my program (environmental). With the scholarship, they're the cheapest so unless anyone else gives me money...

2/17/12 - In at Miami via e-mail telling me there's an update on my MyUM account. No word about scholarship/financial aid yet
-- And in at Tulane via e-mail saying my admissions packet along with information about my scholarship award is in the mail! It's a good day!
-- Annndddd Decision made from Maryland! Guess I have to wait for it in the mail :-/

2/20/12 - "Final Decision Reached, Notice Issued" at Florida. Too bad the mail doesn't run today, I have a lot of waiting to do! Everything is wrapping up though and hopefully I will be able to make a decision before April!
--Just got an e-mail from FSU saying that I am invited to apply for a merit scholarship. Priority due date is March 1st and if you get it in by then they let you know by March 15th. Hoping to go ahead and submit it tonight or tomorrow morning!

2/21/12- Tulane packet arrived with a $35K/year scholarship! Wow! I was not expecting nearly so much from them. There is a 3.0 GPA stipulation to get it for the last 2 years. Also the tote bag envelope is really cool. What a great way to make my Fat Tuesday, Tulane.
-Also in my mailbox, but greatly overshadowed was my Miami admit packet. No scholarship info.

2/23/12 - Maryland's letter came. Just a letter saying I was admitted, no info on scholarships, deadlines, deposits, anything.

2/25/12 - Acceptance packet from Florida came! Scholarship info arrives later, if I get one.

3/8/12 - Scholarship notification from Florida via mail.

3/15/12 - FSU scholarship! Via email at 7:45pm

3/18/12 - Withdrawing from Pace. Also trying to withdraw from Miami, but they don't seem to have a reply form. I guess I just don't pay the deposit when the date rolls around and that'll withdraw me?

4/5/12 - Leaving tomorrow morning for NOLA to tour Tulane Mon, then to Tallahassee to tour FSU Tues, then Gainesville to tour UF Wed! Then to make my decision IMMEDIATELY to get my letters in on time. Leaning toward Tulane right now but UF might sway me...

You can get into far better schools with your numbers. Any particular reason you aren't applying to better schools?

Congrats!

on all your acceptances. It was meant as a compliment. I was just curious...
