and I applied ED for several personal reasons: I didn't feel my app was as strong as the numbers made it seem, and because of the way my LSDAS GPA is constructed it had nowhere to go but down (unless I got all A's, which wasn't going to happen). Plus NYU is my top choice and from looking at previous results, the most money I might expect RD was about 25k-35k over all 3 years. An early decision means I don't have to stress over grades next semester or other decisions, and by the time I submit my updated transcript even with a decent fall semester my LSDAS GPA will be 3.65. :-/ Good luck wherever you are applying!
