Additional info & updates

Applied Early Decision at ND in late October, notified of placement on Provisional List on 12/13. Frequent conversations with ND admissions have told me to expect a decision in mid-to-late April.

Applied to Iowa on 10/31/08. Accepted on 01/29/08. No scholarships, but I'm in-state so I can't complain much.

Applied to Kansas on 03/10/08. No word as of 03/28/08. Visiting on 04/04/08.

03/28/08: Pretty disappointed that Iowa fell out of the Top 25 (was 24th, now 27th) according to USNWR rankings. Kansas fell as well, from 66th to 73rd. Notre Dame moved up from 28 to 22!!!

04/04/08: Visited KU today (Friday) and was very impressed. Friendly students (who actually looked happy to be there), beautiful campus, fun downtown area. Definitely the kind of atmosphere I'm looking for in a law school.

04/10/08: Admitted to KU today via phone call. Very excited! Can't wait to hear if there's a scholarship involved.

4/22/08: still waiting on scholarship info/admission packet from KU, and still praying to get into ND. I'm on pins and needles- from checking LSN and TLS, it's apparent that ND is already showing movement in their waitlist. I hear there are only 50 spots for waitlist candidates... wow, I hope I'm one of the lucky few!

05/29/08: Just paid my second deposit to Iowa... ouch, that's cash I'll never see again. It really sucks to dole out that much money when I'm actually hoping I won't even go there.

06/03/08: Phone interview with ND a couple of days ago. It went extremely well... could've been better if they'd accepted me then and there, but that's pretty optimistic of me. I was told, however, that I would hear from them in the 3rd week of June... here's hoping for good news!

What did you like about KU? I might end up there, and know nothing about the place. Any insight would be greatly appreciated! Good luck making a decision! Let's hope waitlists work out , if ND is your first choice =)

Hang in there!

Hi, I hope you will be able to help me to get into law school. I am next in line on a waitlist and I noticed you were accepted to the University of St. Thomas, if this isnt your first choice or you are not planning on attending and have indicated in the past that you were planning on attending, could you just send a quick email, indicating your intentions not to go to Law School at the University Of St. Thomas to LAWSCHOOL@stthomas.edu and c.c. have2463@stthomas.edu (thats me) This good deed to help a stranger will Im sure be returned to you at some point. Thanks so much.
