Additional info & updates

1/15: GULC app has been "under review" since 1/12. I'm waiting for the hammer to drop. Also went "under review" at UGA today.

1/20: I just sent in an app to Suffolk after soliciting a fee waiver.

1/21: Came home from work last night to discover I'd been accepted via snail mail to Northeastern with 8.5k/yr. The status checker just says "Complete File" so I nearly had a heartattack when I saw the small envelope because I wasn't expecting anything. It feels great to have one in the books.

1/25: UGA Rejection via status checker. Lame.
1/26: GULC Rejection via email. No surprise.

2/09: UC Davis requested an addendum explaining my two LSAT scores today; I responded with one a few hours later.

2/14: In at Temple via email
3/06: In at Suffolk via snail mail
3/15: Out at Fordham via status checker
3/19: Suffolk offered 35k/yr today if I maintain top 50%.

3/22: What is this the week of the Waitlist? Happy about BC, displeased with UCONN. I'll be withdrawing from Cardozo.

3/25: In at Villanova via status checker
3/31: Need to narrow this down. Going to withdraw from Seton Hall.
4/05: Out at UC Hastings via snail mail; Just waiting on Davis now

4/06: Villanova offered 10k/yr today if I maintain a 3.25 gpa, Based on what I've gathered regarding their curve that's about top 1/3 which sounds rather ambitious. In any case, it makes the cost of Temple (out of state) and Villanova (assuming I can't renew the scholarship beyond one year) more or less equal. Hmm...

4/09: Wrote an email to Temple asking for scholarship funds. They responded today by giving me "First Year Scholar" status which amounts to a $12,000 non-renewable scholarship. Pretty sweet.

4/15: Paid deposits at Villanova and Suffolk; Going to ride the BC waitlist; Still waiting on Davis.

5/03: STILL waiting on Davis...
5/17: Davis...
5/19: Dinged from Davis to end cycle.
5/28: Just withdrew from Suffolk; it will be Villanova barring waitlist movement
8/2: Rejected from BC waitlist, attending Villanova

Post 1L UPDATE: Booked 1L year (Top 7%, Law Review), admitted to BU & BC as a transfer -- just remember: even if things don't initially go the way you want them to, you can get where you want to if you keep believing in yourself and putting the work in

I had something on my app that could have affected things regardless of rank of school. thats why I wrote "weird combination of softs".

Congratulations on Temple! I am sooooo jealous. I sent mine on the first of January it wasnt complete till later in Jan but i was wondering if the status checker ever changed for you from complete to under review before you got your emailed acceptance?

Well, I just got off from Davis's "de facto" wait list to their official wait-list.

Well

Hope for the best, expect the worst. You have strong numbers and a 1-2 LSAT points can make all the difference in the world. I've heard from the grapevine that Davis's undergraduate department is equally notorious for taking a while to process apps. The current wait-list for undergrad is at 5,000. Compare that to maybe 100-300 for other schools that have already processed their apps. Now TBF, we don't have numbers for the law school dept, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were equally egregious. One person on TLS forums said some admissions admin placed the current ratio at 20:1 for available seats. No info was given as to whether the 20 figure is only for wait-listed people or the entire pool put together. I'm hoping it's the latter! I've already paid the initial deposit for USD. Dunno about you. But I'm willing to wait until as late as August. My only problem is finding stuff to do to take my mind off the anxiety. Best of luck! I'll be trolling the Davis forums until my status is finalized!
