Finished undergrad in 2007.. have been working at my University since graduation.
Wrote additional statement addressing how my comparatively low GPA was due to my heavy involvement in student government - decreasing grades as leadership involement increased. Also, I have taken a few graduate level classes at my University since graduation and have received all A's; although that isn't computed into LSAC gpa, I hope it added further support to my candidacy and promise.

Since I'm not exactly competitive for HYSC, and because I am an LSAT>GPA splitter, really made sense for me to make the search regional. There were definite regions that I wanted to go to law school, and definite regions where I did not (basically anything south of the Mason Dixon line).
Location and the offerings of certain legal programs are huge factors for me. My preference order in law schools has no correlation to their comparative US News ranking.

Most entertaining part of law school admissions cycle: More or less hearing back from schools in their US News rank order.. lowest -> highest. I am highly amused by this.

thoughts about splitters:
DO NOT rely on the lawschoolpredictor websites that compute your "chances" of admission. According to these websites, it was essentially statistically impossible for me to gain admission to ANY of the schools that have admitted me. They are only useful if you have comparable GPA/LSAT.

Ended up choosing to attend Rutgers-Camden after a pretty solid admissions cycle all-around. The small full-time program really appealed to me, as did proximity to Philadelphia, placement into clerkships, and legal writing. There were a few personal factors that motivated the decision, too. I'm really excited :)
Thanks! I'm leaning towards L&C, but not entirely sure yet. I need to go visit a few of the schools and will probably make a decision after that.
