Additional info & updates

05/01/08- Decided to go to IU-Bloomington instead of DePaul. DePaul is a great school, but I just couldn't turn IU down.

04/26/08- Finally got accepted to Marquette off the waitlist. I'd say that was a solid admissions cycle. On the other hand, I guess I should have applied to a few more reach schools. C'est la vie.

04/16/08-I just received an acceptance from IU-Bloomington with a scholarship. While this is certainly good news, it makes for a tough decision ahead.

04/05/08-IU-Bloomington sent me notification that I was placed on the Waitlist via Snail Mail. That was really the one decision I was waiting on, so I guess that makes decision making easier. But hey, I'm kind of happy that I made it through the whole cycle without an outright rejection.

03/31/08-DePaul upped my scholarship offer to $20,000 a year, which is awesome news. DePaul has been amazing in the admissions process thus far, and Chicago is the best place for my wife and I going forward. So, I'm sending in my deposit and making it official!

03/24/08- Received notification that I was placed on the Waitlist for Marquette. This comes as somewhat of a surprise. While I really liked Marquette, but I don't think my wife and I can wait around to see what happens with the waitlist.

03/20/08- Received E-mail offering full-tuition scholarship plus a stipend at Akron. Also received e-mail admitting me into Penn State.

03/14/08- Large White Envelope from Drake containing lots of information. Scholarship letter was included with packet.

03/07/08- Called to check status of Gonzaga app, and was informed my acceptance w/ $$.

03/03/08- Got an e-mail from Idaho inviting me to the admitted students Yahoo Group, followed by an e-mail of congratulations from the Director of Admissions. Also received Akron acceptance via e-mail.

02/26/08- Got a call from University of Dayton's admissions director offering me a spot in the class. He left a message so I couldn't ask about $$$.

02/25/08- Got a packet from OCU, can't say I'm too excited about getting in, it was mainly an extreme safety school. I sent the decline form back to them so that my spot can be opened up to someone that would really want it.

02/22/08- Received E-mail from DePaul stating my acceptance and $18,000 a year, sweet news.

02/20/08- First Acceptance! DU sent an e-mail late in the day. I thought I had a good chance of getting notice soon after I logged into MyWeb and saw more options and my application status removed.

02/07/08- All reports finally bloody processed. IU and Denver took quite a long time to request reports. It's time for the waiting game.

01/28/07- Submitted IU-Bloomington Application

01/25/07- Gonzaga, Penn State, Idaho request reports. Marquette, Akron, Dayton, Penn State, Drake paper reports sent.

01/24/08- Penn State, Denver, Gonzago, Idaho applications sent. LSAC Fee Waiver full approval granted. Fall 2007 Transcripts processed.

01/22/08- Akron, Dayton, Drake, Marquette request reports.

01/21/08- Akron, Dayton applications sent. LSAC Fee Waiver conditionally approved. Tax Documents faxed to LSAC.

01/18/08 - DePaul, Drake, Marquette applications sent.

01/15/08- Fall 2007 Transcripts sent to LSAC.

I agree. DePaul's handling of the admissions process is stellar. They really have their "stuff" together. Rankings-wise, they are now tied with U of Denver and are also on Loyola Chicago's heals. Personally, I think it has a lot to do with their dean (Weis....whatever). I think they'll be moving up every year for the forseeable future with him running the show. Congrats to you too. I'll see you in August.
