just out of UG

WE 10-15 hours all four years as a math ta and for the last 2 years as the head math ta.

little bit of social frat stuff, but nothing really worth much

Summers kind of interesting varied WE but nothing spectacular, worked construction and rebuilt engines for most of the summers. Not something impressive, but probably different from most of the other peeps.

Decent PS I think (nothing mushy, just kind of a summary of what i've done and how i handle things)

Awesome LORs from two math profs, one highly respected around the world, the other is unkown outside of a pretty small circle

Additional info & updates

Most dates are approximate. A lot of the complete dates are guesses based on when they requested the LSDAS report.
The Sent and Recieved dates are the same for a bunch because i used the online app system from LSAC.

For Northwestern I actually sent, they recieved and then they replied and told me that my app was complete all on the same day . . . i have no idea how they did it so fast.

UofI- phone call from dean or something . . . . $10,000/yr, the dean told me about it on the phone

WashU - Email (morning after I visited and talked to asistant dean)- package in the mail like a month an a half later.

*WUSTL Update* As of 2/21 they finally gave me some lovin' $20000 a year, so i guess that lovin' was worth the wait.

W&M - letter, can't remember what it was like. . . . offer of instate tuition and some sort of fellowship came with the letter --- the big name math prof who wrote my LOR was a W&M grad. . . could have had some influence

Tulane- letter i think. . . . $20000/yr came with the letter

ND - Email. . . $7000/yr fellowship came with the email

Vanderbilt - letter, no money as of yet. . . .where's my lovin' vandy?

*Vandy update* I called on 3/10/05 and they said they sent me a letter on 03/07/05 (i hadn't gotten it yet). . . .$8,000 per year. . . . vandy you're gonna have to do better than that. . .WUSTL sent me over twice that amount.

Cornell - Status changed to decision 3/8/05 (with no link at the bottom of the status page. . . some folks have said that if theres no link then you have a ding/WL/interview request on the way. . . but this wasn't true for me). Email on 3/09/05 saying i was admitted.

*Cornell Update* I got the link for admitted students on the Cornell status check on 03/12/05.

Hahvahd - plain white evelope with Harvard Law School on the front. . . . ouch. . . my pride

UMich - email WL at 3:37PM . . . looks to me like they're waitlisting a ton of people so I'm not counting on it. . . .i didn't want to go there anyway. . .Illini for fuckin' life. . .

Yale - small white (maybe off white, I can't recall) envelope, said Yale Law School with address on the back flap, but no return address on the front.. . . I expected this one. . . I was pretty happy about it, . . I used it to prove to my mother that prayer does nothing. . .HA!

Duke - Small white (or off-white, again I can't remember) envelope. . . .Meh, I could care less about duke, I wouldn't choose them over Cornell.

probably gonna withdraw from Tulane, W&M, UofI and ND here pretty soon . . . but not until i convince my parents to let me jet around the country visiting them all for spring break.

I visited Cornell and loved it, I'm probably headed there in the Fall unless I get into Chicago. . .

. . . . looks like I didn't get into Chicago. . . . oh well, Ithaca's gorges!

***************************************************

hmmm. . .i can't seem to get the response thing to work so i'm just gonna respond to everyone on my own thing. . . . .btw. . . .sorry its been a while since i've checked this stuff. . . .

mbar1357. . .I was on the general waitlist thing. . .not the priority. . . i didn't even know there was such a thing.

ASNetlenov.. . . i'll be going to cornell. . . i would have responded earlier, but i haven't checked this thing in forever. . . .my bad, sorry. . . .i'll try and keep up from now on

Calivalley. . . .Thanks! I'm pullin for you. . .

Patrick. . . dude, i'm stoked you're comming. . . .i'm gonna live in a place called collegetown center. . . its owned by ithaca rentals (www.ithacarenting.com, i think) its really close to the law school and it caters specifically to grad students and especially law students, but its really small and really expensive. . . .I've heard some stuff about some housing further off campus that was really nice and reasonable too, but i didn't go look at it (theres some info about it on the admitted students board). If you still have my phone number, feel free to give me a call about it or just give me a call in general. . . it'd be cool to hear from you. I would call you, but i seem to have lost your phone number. . . sorry. . . alternatively you can email me if you have my email address.
Anyway, keep in touch, and i'll see you in the fall.
