Additional info & updates

Note: I applied to Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia and Berkeley under the conviction that I have a 0% chance of acceptance if I do not apply. With that in mind, I also realize that my chances are near 0 regardless--but hey, maybe one of the admissions officers will like me.

Penn is my top choice, but it's a long shot with my LSAT (I'm convinced that most T14's judge applicants solely on their LSAT score, but I digress...). Hopefully I can at least get waitlisted and play it by ear afterwards. Vanderbilt and Wash U are schools that I would love to attend if Penn falls through.

--1/12 - Large envelop from Pepperdine--
Not my top choice, but definitely a good fall-back, especially with a scholarship. I've never been to Malibu... but that may change

--1/29 - Small envelop from UC - Berkeley--
With my credentials, I saw this one coming; although I thought waitlist might have been possible with my softs and LORs. I suppose it's their loss. Nonetheless, I'm hoping this isn't a sign of things to come...

--2/09 - Under Committee Review at PENN--

--2/10 - Application Complete at Columbia--
I decided to change Columbia to my #1 choice, because in my "application complete" e-mail today, they said - I quote - "we hope to welcome you here as a member of the Class of 2012!" In this particular case, Columbia has the opportunity to make their hope become a reality.

I most likely wont't be attending Pepperdine. Waiting to hear back from my last three schools, which will most likely be "no." Right now I am leaning towards U of IL. Good Luck with the schools you are waiting to hear back from!

Hey, Thanks for writing me. At this point, I don't know if Pepperdine is a conteder for me given how conservative it is. I'm happy at the scholarship, but I don't know if I can handle that conservative atmosphere. Heck, Ken Starr is the dean. Crazy. I hope your cycle goes well. Maybe next year in Pepperdine
