Additional info & updates

12.10.2009 -- JR1. Just under 7 minutes. Fortunately avoided saying anything moronic, partially due to a lack of opportunity. Feeling good about my chances.

12.14.2009 -- JR2.

01.11.2010 -- Received $22,500/year Dean's Scholarship from UMich. Disappointed and slightly surprised not to have been invited to apply for a Darrow. I find it very unlikely now that I will attend.

01.11.2010 -- Sent to Faculty Admissions Committee for further review at Berkeley. Apparently, around 200 of 1500 make it out of there with an acceptance. I'll wait it out, but I don't even really care anymore.

01.25.2010 -- In with a Hamilton Fellowship at Columbia! Wow. Now I need to start withdrawing from places: Michigan, Berkeley, Cornell, Duke, Emory, and Georgetown.

And then there were five: Yale, Harvard, Stanford, Columbia, NYU. I will need to receive a full ride at NYU to consider it. Otherwise, visits will play a large role in my decision.

02.20.2010 -- Got scholarship offer from Emory three weeks after withdrawing. Thanks...

03.22.2010 -- Received full-tuition Environmental and Land Use Law Scholarship from NYU. (Total would be $23,250 less if I make more than $15,000 during 2L summer.) Need to make a decision by the end of next week.

03.27.2010 -- Dean Revesz of NYU called me today and we had a 15 minute conversation about NYU and the environmental law opportunities there. Very impressed that he would take the time to call me. Still conflicted about my choice.

04.01.2010 -- After requesting an expedited decision from Yale because of my NYU deadline, I was told today that I will either be accepted or waitlisted. I was basically expecting a rejection, so I was pretty pleased to hear this. Now I'm just expecting the waitlist.

I also got my HLS need-based award today. $15,000 for the first year. Not as much as I was expecting, to be honest, but not terrible.

I'll be turning down my NYU scholarship tomorrow. I'm sure it will hurt, but I can't throw away a chance at Yale (and I can more readily see myself at HLS or CLS than at NYU).

04.20.2010 -- Officially decided on Harvard. Feel free to PM if you're interested in my reasons.

05.19.2010 -- In at Yale off the waitlist.

I'd love to discuss Hamilton v. HLS with you, as I'm in the same boat and am starting to feel seasick. Drop me a line.
