They didn't waitlist me. They told me that they couldn't make a decision and would make one by late April. Waitlist, to me, means you can wait until the first day of class to hear from the adcom. They deferred making a decision until their applicant pool was a bit more clear. Still not a good thing. How is the area around FIU?

I've heard horror stories about Miami, crime and such. Is FIU's surrounding area condusive to family life? At this point I'd take FIU over UofM just to save the money. I'm going to be down there this weekend for UofM's accepted student day and I plan to go by FIU's law school to have a look around. Maybe I'll chat with Ms. Miro about my status.

Actually, I didn't receive anything from FIU until i got accepted. A scholarship would be nice but the in state tuition makes it so much more affordable than anything else anyway...STU gave me decent money, but even if I work hard there\\\'s no guarantee that I will be able to keep it after first year. So I going to consider some other schools if I get in but I think I\\\'m going to go with FIU and then maybe attempt to UF or FSU after first year...
