Additional info & updates

I have great work experience for a 27 yr old. I had shitty, shitty undergraduate grades and decent graduate grades at a non-prestigious Southern state school. I made a point of getting involved in "interesting" extracurriculars and befriending powerful people. Had I known I would get in almost everywhere I applied, I would've applied to a few "reach" schools. (I was still smarting from PhD rejections, I think!)

I had a little "political pull" from family and employers, but I think I got in because I had really good rec letters and great work experience---my academic background and LSAT are mediocre at best.

I teach full-time and started "studying" for the LSAT the week before I took it, which was a pretty bad idea. I got killed on Logic Games.

I have not been given any money from Elon. Their scholarship policy requires you to submit a letter to the scholarship committee reqesting to be considered, which I have done. I am still waiting to hear back, but I will probably not go there unless they give me something, I mean $26000/yr and not accredited, they definatly think alot of themselves.

thanks!

wow, we do have almost the same exact stats! i ALSO have a masters with that gpa! and i also did some teaching. the mercer rejection really confused me too! the only thing i could think of is that they didn't appreciate that i got in trouble for on campus living stuff during undergrad like noise violations. i didn't think they would consider that a big deal, but maybe they did? it was multiple years ago though. good luck to you! i hope you get in.

Hi I am working on a story about Elon Law School for the News & Record in Greensboro. Please contact me if you wouldn't mind an interview about why you applied, etc. Thanks
