Failed out my freshman year, then proceeded to not try at the community colleges I attended. Took some additional time off thereafter to figure things out, came back with a new drive and haven't looked back. GPA since I returned to school has been about 3.6, had a 3.7 in my major. I basically have the ultimate recovery story: from TOTAL failure to student body president recognized by the faculty and administration with various awards. Took a year off post-college to work for a major internet site doing computer security.

Additional info & updates

3/17/09: So far I know about the obvious schools: in at Whittier and Widener, rejected at Berkeley. Now waiting on $ offers and for the REAL targets to make decisions.

3/7/09: Got a small envelope from Berkeley. I am shocked, SHOCKED at the result, let me tell you. Expected this, but can't help but feel disappointed.

2/2/09: Well, after three years of working towards this point, I've finally sent in my first applications. Now, to get out apps to the priority schools and whittle down the rest of my list to schools I definitely have an interest in.
