Nontraditional student. I will be thirty when first semester starts. Second marriage. Two kids. Home owner. 14 years of employment history. Teen court and police explorers during high school. Licensed insurance agent. Extensive volunteering senior year of undergrad.

8/5/11 Added "Intend to Apply" to Drake University. I think my chances of getting in are pretty strong, but I'm hoping for a good scholarship so that I don't have to work.

8/15/11 Added "Intend to Apply" to University of Iowa. I probably won't go there, but if the scholarship is good enough, I would consider getting a room there and staying for the week, then commuting back to Des Moines on the weekends.

9/25/2011 Added "Intend to Apply" to Northwestern. It's a long shot unless I knock the LSAT out of the park on Oct. 1, but I can't resist their ED offer, and I would love to be in Chicago.

10/24/2011 Deleted Northwestern from the list. I just don't think that is going to happen and I don't want to spend the money interviewing and applying for such a long shot.

10/30/2011 Added Michigan State, William and Mary, and Wake forest as "intend to apply" thanks to fee waivers. Though after visiting Iowa this weekend, it remains a top choice for me.

11/3/2011 Got a fee waiver from U of I today. I was planning on applying anyway and this is probably where I will end up, but I can definitely use the waiver!

11/13/2011 Deleted Wake Forest from my list. I just don't feel like going through all of their C&F nonsense for speeding tickets and the like. All apps are in for now. I might send some more later if I get any waivers that I like.

11/15/2011 I applied to UIUC today. I didn't realize that they were waiving the app fee for everyone this year. Thought it was worth a shot despite the scandal. I also got a fee waiver for Mizzou recently. I might throw an app their way. I'll probably wait for payday first though. My Iowa app is in review. I'm anticipating a decision Monday based on prior years.

11/29/2011 Finally complete at Drake. Still waiting on a decision from Iowa.
Update- In at Iowa! Also got a fee waiver from Indiana. I might use that one.

12/1/2011 Received my email from Dean Agrawal from Iowa and my letter from Collins Byrd.

12/8/2011 MSU wants a why MSU essay. I probably won't be sending it.

1/6/2012 Accepted to UIUC via email with a 25% scholarship.

1/19/2012 Withdrew from MSU.

1/23/2012 "Decision Rendered" on the Drake status checker. Seat deposits are there, so it looks like I'm in!

1/24/2012 My acceptance packet arrived from Drake today! $30,000 per year scholarship with some complex stipulations.

3/13/2012 WOW! Just got full tuition from Iowa! Huge decisions now.

3/23/2012 Waitlisted at William and Mary via e-mail. I replied and withdrew.

4/13/2012 Deposited at Drake!

I hope your cycle goes well for you! I think that you should definitely be in at Iowa and Drake. My brother had similar numbers to yours and got a significant scholarship to Drake. Best of luck!

Yeah I was glad to get into W&M this early. Good luck with Iowa, they are near the top of my list as well.

You'll definitely get into Mizzou if you apply. But, the degree is really only worth anything in MO. You have a good shot at Iowa, which is a much better school, so I'd go there. Will you apply to WUSTL?

Thanks, and congrats on Iowa. I am excited about Minnesota, but was shocked when I saw the tuition for a state school was over $43,000 a year. Good luck with the rest of your cycle and let me know where you decide to attend.

yeah my wife and I like Drake too. I think I have a solid shot at some tier two's and Ill probably go with a top 100 in a bigger city if I get the chance but Drake is ahead of William Mitchell.
