Additional info & updates

17 Nov: Flew all the way to Hong Kong for NUSL interview. Hope I could get better score at December LSAT not to sacrifice the time and the money I spent for this...

3 Dec: G-town(ED) went to decision. How can I wait for 2 weeks? No rejection please! Just defer the decision....

7 Dec: took last LSAT for this cycle.

9 Dec: file not complete yet at Berkeley, UCLA, U Wisconsin and George Mason.

17 Dec: 2 weeks passed and G-town notice did not arrive yet. Called the admission office at 11 p.m. (10 a.m. in D.C.) and asked if they could let me know the result via email. They told me to write a request email so I did. Waited for three hours and at 2 a.m. (1 p.m. in D.C.) they sent me an email to confirm my mailing address and I responded. at 6 a.m. they sent me another email and said they cannot notify me via email and that they will send the letter again. Sigh... I stood up all night to see I have to wait for another 2 weeks....

19 Dec: admitted to George Mason. received an email. my first admission! relieved to see schools are at least reviewing my file.

29 Dec: G-Town decision letter arrived, finally. The first letter was definitely lost and the second one took two weeks to arrive...relieved it is not a rejection...I hope Dec scores are better...

30 Dec: Dec LSAT scores released. It stays the same as my June score. Sigh.... Now that the scores are available, I expect to receive a wave of decision soon from all pending schools.. Please accept me! At least I constantly got 165...

8 Jan: In at Cardozo with scholarship award. I was getting anxious to receive no further decision notification since GMU, but I am getting a bit relieved... Hope to hear good news from other pending schools as well...

18 Jan: In at Emory! Yellow envelope says "Official Summons Enclosed." I thought Emory just wanted to interview me, but actually it was the letter of acceptance! 10 days after Cardozo acceptance I was getting extremely nervous, but now I am getting more confident that I will receive better results!

20 Jan: Rejection from BC. It hurts... The letter arrived with an illegal parking ticket from my town office. Two bad news at one day...

21 Jan: Complete email from UCLA. Well I took December LSAT but it was October 19 that I submitted my whole application package thru LSAC, including my June LSAT score...

21 Jan-9 Apr: Times of agony. Shocked to receive reject mails from BC, BU, GW, and especially GW. Lost appetite, felt dizzy, had headaches to think if I have to attend a law school or not....Continuing reject mails from Duke, Berkeley, UCLA, and finally USC yesterday. All results are available now and I did not make progress since I got accepted to Emory in January...

Unless anything lucky happens for my waiting list, I would end up attending Emory. Quite frankly this is not what I expected when I initiated my cycle. A small advice to you if you got 165 and felt relieved like I did: 165 is NOT ENOUGH! The difference between 166 and 165 is HUGE, especially if your GPA is not high and around mine. (3.49) I don't think a polished up PS can make up for your low score; it can get your file tossed to rejection if you do not work hard on it, but it cannot get you in. Eventually everything seems to be decided by the numbers. So if you got time, take another test! 167 will put you in a unbelievably far better position than 165. Even 166 will bring you remarkably different results....
