Additional info & updates

Graduated December, 2014.

I worked as teacher, and then as a private academic specialist (currently)

Deans List Every semester at ASU (last 3 years of Uni)

Part of an Honours Society for my major

Worked in Title I Schools as part of my teacher training

Graduated Summa Cum Laude

I'm positive one LOR was great, and the other one was probably pretty good.

Added addenda explaining the difference in LSDAS GPA and Degree GPA, as well as LSAT score.

Reason for differential in GPAs:
Basically bombed my first year at Uni. Left my first school on probation with a 1.17 GPA and attended Community College for a while to find my way and up my academics. Transferred to ASU and graduated with a 3.81 and Summa Cum Laude Honours.

-UPDATES-

2/24 - Boot from American via email. Darn. Disappointed since I did expect to at least get on the waitlist.

3/3 - Accepted to Hofstra via email with $35,000 a year. More details to come in the mail soon. (Funny side note, my scholarship email came before my acceptance email)

3/7 - E-mail from Rutgers saying that my application has had its status updated to "no decision" as of now, which is not the same as 'waitlisted' apparently.

3/9 - Waitlisted at Cardozo via email. Boo. I'd hoped to for sure get in. Will be writing a LOCI and accepting my spot on the list. -UPDATE- 3/13 Wrote and submitted LOCI and accepted spot on list

3/9 - Boot from Arizona State via email. Was to be expected but I applied anyway because it was my unsergrad and I had a great letter of rec from one of their esteemed faculty. However, being so highly ranked it was quite a reach for me anyway. Oh well.

3/14 - Waitlisted at Northeastern. No email or notification as of yet. Found out doing my daily app status check through the individual schools' websites. Plan to inquire regarding potential LOCI. If LOCI is accepted, I will be writing one and submitting it ASAP. -UPDATE- Received email telling me that they had rendered a decision, and to check my status online with their status checker (LOL). They also provided instructions on how to do so.

3/14 - Waitlisted at Hastings via email. This is becoming tedious. Email suggested a Letter of Continued Interest. Will be submitting ASAP.

3/16 - Waitlisted at USD via email. ugh.

3/24 - Boot from Georgetown via email. No shock there lol

3/24 - Boot from UC Davis. No email received. Was checking status online and my status had changed to "Decision has been mailed - Click here to view decision letter" where I was able to view an 'unofficial' copy of my letter lol.

4/5 - Waitlisted at Brooklyn via email.

4/5 - Accepted to USF via email +25k non-renewable merit scholarship

4/7 - Accepted to Santa Clara via email, no scholarship offer

4/10 - Waitlist offer from Rutgers via email

4/20 - Boot from Loyola. Disappointed but not surprising given the current trend

4/27 - Boot from Tulane. Disappointed and mildly surprised but oh well.

5/1 - Waitlist offer to Southwestern, with the encouragement of interview.

5/4 - Hofstra offered increase of scholarship from 35k to 50k via email

5/17 - Phone interview with Southwestern. Felt positive but was made aware of the possibility of not hearing back until late July.

I actually won't be attending the Hofstra admitted students day as I withdrew my application there a couple days ago! Enjoy!

Did you hear back from Cardozo or Rutgers in regards to being wait listed yet?

Hi, I'm not sure whether you're at law school or still in the app process!? We have similar stats and I actually transferred my freshman year with a 2.76 GPA, went to community college for a year, and then graduated from Rutgers with a 3.7...let me know where you're going if you're already at law school!
