Call and ask them what else you can do to improve your chances of getting in. Then call them once a week to check your status. Once a week doesn't come off as annoying, yet it does show you are persistent. Tell them you would even be willing to join the evening program and transfer to full time next year. Anything helps. That is the best advice I can give you.
I suppose the best advice I can offer is to maintain active correspondence. I sent a LOCI (with updates) every 3-4 weeks or so, along with my final transcript when it became available. As well, if SMU is your first choice, and you can guarantee your matriculation, it would behoove you to let them know that. Good luck!
