I will be attending UVA and could not be more excited! I applied last cycle and was waitlisted.

Advice for applicants, in general:

APPLY EARLY
I applied late February last year--don't do that! Take the June LSAT and submit your applications by the end of October. I ended up retaking in September, so I sent my updated score (158->160) as an addendum to my applications.

WRITE a "WHY X"
For UVA, especially, it seems like you have to write an additional essay explaining your interest in the school. They care so much about fit with the culture there.

MAKE SURE YOUR ENTIRE APPLICATION IS STRONG
My essays, letters of recommendation, resume, etc. were all polished; I wanted my LSAT to be my only "glaring" weakness in my application.

THINK ABOUT WORKING
I was a KJD last year. My application was definitely strengthened (at least a little bit) by working for a year.
