Additional info & updates

Started in '96, three semesters of F, kicked out with a 1.325 GPA, joined a band, went for it, made some records, toured the world, put it in perspective, back to school 5 years later, 3.9 since coming back. Nice.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

3/3 Preferred waiting list from GULC; small white envelope via snailmail. Dated 2/28. Quick turnaround from completion- I hope that is an indication of wanting to make sure I'm high on the list. Graspin' at straws, people.

3/18 Ding! Oh-so-nice letter from Cornell. Plain white envelope, dated 3/14. Something about the stock "You must be disappointed" line grates on me a bit. Eh, their loss.

3/20 Priority Waiting List from UIUC. Plain white envelope, dated 3/10. As if being waitlisted wasn't awesome enough, letter informs me not to expect a decision until August. I feel so blessed.

3/30 Waiting List from WM. Small, thick-ish envelope, dated 3/27. I am not yet King of "The List," but I think my third one elevates me at least to the level of Landed Gentry. Maybe Laundered Gentry is more appropriate. Maybe I should be double-punished for bad wordplay. Movin' on up.

4/1 Ding Ding! Columbia is unable to take "Affirmative Action" on my application. Zing! Small envelope, dated 3/29. Curse you, stars!

4/6 Waitlists be lovin' this guy. I got the NW decision notification, went to the status check site, and couldn't download the PDF for a day. Nice. To make my evening even better. my live-in girlfriend of two years abruptly tendered her resignation and made me move all of my shit out while I was in the middle of a final paper worth 30% of a grade. Suck my waitlist! But all was not for naught, because on...

4/7 We rejoice! Someone has bought the hype. Email acceptance from WUSTL. Very late, and very, very appreciated. Barring a rope from GW or a miracle from one of my T14 WLs, here I come Busch Stadium! Now gimme some money! Huzzah!

4/8 Ding Ding Ding! NYU wraps up a busy couple of days with yet another in a growing line of heartbreaking farewells. Plain white envelope, dated 3/31. Well, NYC is expensive, I guess...

4/17 Ding Ding Ding Ding; Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding! In a busy day, Austin sees a massive power blackout, I get my financial aid letter from WUSTL, and rejections come in small envelopes from GW (4/7) and Chicago (4/12). With the GW ding, it looks pretty official: barring a summer WL acceptance from GULC or Northwestern, I will be attending Wash U. Nice. Side note: Hell of a cycle. Jeez!

4/21 Email from GULC- they're moving on my application this week. Bring it. BRING IT! (pretty please)

4/24 Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding! Fordham goes to great lengths to inform me of their decision, updating their status checker and not even contacting me. Not that I would have gone there, but Jesus- it sure took 'em long enough. Cycle over, and how. 1 win, six losses, 4 rainouts.

4/25 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go east, young man. Georgetown has delivered.

Partyguy, you forget that this dude is URM. He doesn't have to go that low. I don't know much about URM chances. Still, mig would be very lucky to get into any T14s. Why don't you throw in Duke? Duke almost matches Northwestern in throwing out bad GPAs for good LSATs. (might be too late to apply there though) Also, I'd have thrown in Washington & Lee. It's more likely to look at strong LSATs than W&M, a similar school which you applied to. It also is chronically short on URMs. I would also throw in Wisconsin and Indiana Bloomington. Both of these, especially Indiana, especially reward high LSATs. They would be ideal safety schools.

Congrats
