Additional info & updates

3/1- UK sends scholarship offer of difference between in-state/out-of-state tuition. Very nice considering I battled them to give me residency considering I've lived, worked, and attended school in KY for the past 4 years. Award worth over $35,000 ($11,000~ish per year). If residency is granted after first year, I can reapply for resident scholarships. Very exciting!!!

3/4- In at Louisville via large snail mail packet. $8,000 per year is nice but not so helpful when paying out of state. Very nice handwritten note from the Dean however.

3/5- In at Drexel via phone call and email. $20,000 per year sounds outrageously good but that still leaves me with $12,000 per year plus cost of living in Philadelphia. No go.

3/10- In at DePaul with a 20,000 per year scholarship. NKU sends packet with full tuition scholarship plus guaranteed paid research assistantship in my 2nd and 3rd year.

I totally agree, but apparently, they practice yield protection. Which is cool because I had talked to Assistant Dean Hamilton and I basically told him if I got good enough scores to get into UK or better, that's where I would be going. So I wasn't that surprised, I just didn't foresee it being so earlier in the cycle! Anyways, good luck with the rest of your cycle!!
