Additional info & updates

2/15/08:
First acceptance came today! Bless you Catholic University! I'm going to be a lawyer. Perhaps I'll name my first born after you.
2/20/08
Catholic admission packet came today in a big envelope along with a separate small envelope containing....a scholarship! It's pretty small at $7,500 across 3 years, but it's pleasantly unexpected. Only renewable if I stay in my class's top 25% each year

2/27/08
DING from George Mason. Who's surprised; yeah, me neither. It was a hail mary application. Now I just sit patiently for my final application decision, and my cycle will be over.

3/5/08
WL at American. I'm pretty disappointed in that, but it seems pretty indicative of American's strategy this cycle. I really don't like the idea of waitlisting anyone remotely borderline or too high for a precious yield. I'm not yet sure of whether I will send in the WL form. I guess now is the time to decide if I'm ready to call my cycle complete.

4/16/08
Just received an invitation to interview with a faculty member for an increase in my merit scholarship award. SCORE! I love you Catholic.

Wanted to offer my congrats on your acceptance to CUA (may even see you there!) and to wish you luck on American and GMU. We're in the same boat numbers-wise and I'm also waiting to hear from those two schools. Am hoping for the best for both of us. Again, congratulations!! :-)

Sorry...

...to see that you fell short of GMU's admitted pile as well. Suppose that these folks just aren't impressed by us folks with a science background. They should be, though; how many lawyers know how to dissolve damning evidence? ;-) Mason was my top choice until I visited American and changed my mind; was terribly impressed by how nice everyone was compared to my GMU visit. If I can get in there, I'll be very happy. Wishing you the best of luck with the rest of your cycle. And regardless of what happens, at least we both made Catholic; perhaps I'll see you there!
