Additional info & updates

Graduated in 2007. I also minored in Anthropology. Have had a few odd jobs since graduating, and I've been working at a small law firm since April. Two of my recs are from profs, one is from an attorney in my office. Had a few HORRIBLE semesters in college grade-wise really for no other reason than I didn't know what I wanted to do. I also thought my GPA really wouldn't matter in the real world . . . of course I'm kicking myself now.

12/9/08 - Called all the schools that didn't send me confirmation e-mails. UGA's power was out so they couldn't look it up but said they'd send something with login information when they could. Harvard will email me when they've looked over my file and are sure it's complete. Complete at Emory since yesterday. Complete at BC since 12/3. Vanderbilt hasn't gotten to mine yet, will email me when they do. Already really anxious somehow.

12/19/08 - blood pressure climbs.

1/9/09 - Accepted at George Mason! Phone call from dean. SO relieved.

1/10/09 - Deferred to regular applicant pool at Northeastern by small, plain envelope.

1/11/09 - Just found an email in my spam with a password for UGA login but not a user name. Does anyone know if this is something formulaic or something randomly assigned?

1/12/09 - In at UGA! Decision was final around the December 23rd but I just found out by mail.

1/13/09 - Rejection email from UVA (sent at 11:58 pm).

1/30/09 - Rejected from Vanderbilt by mail.

2/2/09 - Rejected from BC by mail. Really thought I had a shot at the waitlist there, dag nabbit.

2/7/09 - Rejected from BU by mail. Sigh.

3/12/09 - Waitlisted at Emory by mail (small white envelope. I definitely thought it was going to be a rejection).

5/27/09 - Finally making a decision after much hemming and hawing. As much as I'd like to be in Boston, I'd rather not have to take the $100,000 more in loans. So Georgia it is! Heads up for those of you wait listed at W&M, I just went down for an interview with a dean of admissions and she informed me that they're already over-enrolled and will possibly not even look at the wait list.

Congratulations on Georgia. Your numbers are kind of similar to mine (though yours are a bit better) but it still gives me hope on Georgia. I'm guessing your extracurricular activities gave you a boost. Hope my softs help me too.

Did you find out about scholly info in your snail mail acceptance or later? UGA recently accepted me and I was wondering if there's a chance they'd through a little cash my way.
