Additional info & updates

12/13/10 took LSAT 2nd time this past Saturday - have decided to not cancel score, even though had flu at the time. So did half the people in my testing center. 10% walked out without finishing. Score is from first LSAT June 2010. Now to do the apps.

1/13/11 Must have spent over 50 hours writing personal and supplemental statements. Apps for UCI and Chapman submitted prior to 12/31. Then came the disappointing LSAT score: 147, worse than last June's 150 - goes with having the flu on test day. Pressed on and submitted Western and Whittier apps last week. LORs went in last week too, but LSAC is a little slow processing them. Now we wait...and check...and wait...and check...

1/26/11 Both LORs on file as of today with LSAC. They haven't yet gen'd full reports to all schools. Hopefully they'll do so in next few days. More waiting and checking.

1/27/11 All info is IN and LSAC has marked me "complete". 2 LORs haven't been sent out to 2 of the schools. Spoke with folks at LSAC, who are digging out from last night's blizzard (17 "!) and they said they'll automatically send the second letter to the 2 schools. Now we wait on the schools.

2/1/11 All reports and LORs have been sent to all schools.

2/2/11 Received e-mail last night from Western State "Strongly encouraging" me to contact them for an interview. Scheduled for next Friday with the Asst Dean of Admissions.

2/10/11 Received my first notification! Admitted to Whittier, with a scholarship. The latter is a nice surprise, especially since I expect to be a part-timer.

2/11/11 Interviewed with Asst Dean of Admissions at Western. Went well. App is in review. More waiting.

Thanks... it is definitely a relief to get accepted somewhere! No, I'm not planning on applying to UCI. Their median GPA/LSAT numbers are pretty high and I don't know how I feel about going to such a new school with such a small alumni network. Good luck to you with your applications!

I know! I had kind of given up on the idea of law school, but I LOVE having that option of being so close to home, and knowing the area so well. Best of luck to you, as well! :)
