Quick background: I considered applying for law school in 2006. I took the LSAT and scored a 149. At that point I decided to put off law school and experience life outside of academia.

Looking back, it was a great decision to put off school. I am now more prepared than ever to be very successful in law school.

I took the LSAT again in December and scored a 150. This was very discouraging (although I had extenuating circumstances). I am taking the test again in February and I am very confident I will score in the high 150's at the bare minimum!

2/7 - I just got back from taking the February LSAT and I think I nailed it! It's going to be a tough 3 weeks until I get the scores back! Still waiting on my last LOR to post to apply.

2/13 - Everything is in order and ready to apply! I am dedicating this whole weekend to applications. The beer will be cold come Sunday night!

2/28 - Got my February LSAT score back today! 158! Hopefully this will put me over the top on some of my applications!

3/9 - Got my first decision back. In at Ohio Northern! Woo Hoo! Definitely going to law school in the fall! Still hoping for some more acceptances (preferably Cleveland State).

3/13 - Took an extended tour of Ohio Northern today. Found out they are giving me $20k/year! Big choices ahead. That's really hard to turn down, but the school is in the middle of nowhere. Oh the pressure :/

3/18 - In at Toledo! Let's keep this momentum going!

3/23 - In at Capital, 3 for 3 baby!

4/1 - Sent in my deposit for ONU. Also withdrew from Toledo. God I wish these other schools would respond soon :/

4/4- IN at Akron with a (nearly) full ride!!! Hopefully I hear from the remaining schools soon so I can make a decision.

4/8- Just got done touring Akron. Pretty impressive! I think it has moved into the number one slot, especially with the scholorship.

4/18 - Just found out Akron uped the scholorship to $21,000/yr! Looks like I will most likely be a Zip!!!

4/22 - Waitlisted at South Carolina. Unless CSU can come close to Akron's offer, I will attend Akron! :)

5/21 - FINALLY heard from CSU...... Waitlisted!?!? WTF! Oh well, I was nil impressed with their handling of this whole process anyways (bitter much?)

Good luck man. We have similar stats (same LSAT, my GPA was lower) and I got into a top 100 school with a scholarship covering over half the tuition. A little late in the cycle for you, but that shouldn't count you out for most of your choices.

Congrats to you as well. I just heard back fairly recently from CSU so I'm sure there are more admittances coming out and their deadline for reserving a seat is April 15th so either way I'm sure you'll hear something pretty soon. Good luck with that. How long did it take you to hear back from Capital ?

Congrats!

Congrats on your LSAT achievement! I'm interested in knowing what did when you took time away from academia. More importantly, why didn't you apply to OSU? Your numbers are in their range and your sn is OSU-related. Good luck with CSU and Case-I'm sure you'll hear good news from both.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips! I'm not interested in re-taking the LSAT, I'd rather start law school sooner than later. Though I've enjoyed my year away from academia, I've been really affected by the economic woes and learned a lot from it. I'm also interested in practicing in Cleveland, maybe we will cross paths in the future. Good luck to you with everything.

Still no word from C/M?

That is frustrating!
