Goodbye Chicago deposit. I was truly excited to attend UChicago, but this is an opportunity I can't pass.

---------------

11/7 Under review at Duke. Harvard also says under review, but I never checked it when it just said "complete," so I'm wondering whether "under review" is just its version of "complete."

11/9 Accepted to Texas via phone call (voicemail, erg). So extremely happy to have this one. Love Austin. Love the Midwest. Waiting for the official letter in the mail. Hook 'em Horns!

11/14 Georgetown status date changes to today, 11/14, yet the message remains the same, "Application Complete." Wonder what that means.

11/19 Turns out Georgetown's status update was a blessing! Accepted! Small (wedding invite style) envelope in the mail dated 11/14. Currently running around the house yelling.

11/21 Accepted to Tulane via email. Fingers crossed on scholarships, which should be arriving via snail mail.

11/26 Lots of mail. Coolest package from Tulane. The envelope turns into a canvas bag. Plus, the contents were pretty nice :) Big HEAVY black box from Vanderbilt with an acceptance and much information about the school and Nashville. Then, also exciting, but heavily overshadowed by all the fanfare, a small letter acceptance from George Washington University with a personal letter. Happy day.

12/2 Phone call from Boston University and a letter to arrive soon! Email from Wash U St. Louis. Accepted and application under consideration for a scholarship. Would love to visit BU to see just how urban its campus is.

12/13 Email from Boston College. Later received a folder in the mail. Tough decision between Boston schools!

12/21 Email from Northwestern! Love their location and what I've heard about the student body. Not sure about the winter weather, but, I'll be locked up in a library anyway.

12/23 Small letter, snail mail from Colorado Law. Living in the foothills of the Rockies would be ideal.

Still waiting to hear about scholarships... right now law school is looking pretty pricey, minus Tulane.

1/13 Held at Harvard.

1/13 (again) Missed a phone call from IL,USA. Assumed it was spam. Listened to my voicemail and was surprised to hear I should check my email for "important information about my application." ACCEPTED to CHICAGO! Holy. Cow.

1/30 Email from UVa to call the office. I am in the middle of teaching so I have to wait hours and then get a voicemail. Dismay! Immediately I receive a call back... IN at UVa! Very very (very) excited. No mention of money in the voicemail I received.

2/22 Email from Columbia- Held. Email from Duke- Priority Reserve. We'll see.

2/25 Full scholarship from Colorado. I want to ultimately live in Denver, so this is tempting.

2/29 Leap year news. CANNOT believe I have a scholarship to Chicago. So tremendously thankful. But, I did get my first official waitlist (except for Duke, which, I still don't quite understand). Penn. I was starting to be spoiled, so it's good to have some reality.

Congrats on UT and the scholarship! Is that scholarship amount over three years? How long did it take before you got the scholarship letter?

Hey! How were you notified about your scholarship from CU? I'm checking my mail daily hoping for a good scholarship from them. :)
