Additional info & updates

UVA Law with 90k scholarship was the favorite for most of the cycle (accepted in less than 24 hours!! S/O to Dean Faulk) and where I ultimately deposited. But, a relatively late Duke Law acceptance with $105k scholarship offer was seriously enticing.

I wrote Why X essays for Penn, UVA, Michigan, Duke, Cornell, and Vanderbilt. (Michigan evidently wasn't convinced.) I did an optional essay for GULC, but skipped out on a Why X and got a strong yield protect. Based on what I've seen this cycle, seems like applicants should treat Why X essays as required. I was pleasantly surprised by the Penn acceptance, but with no $ it wasn't going to happen.

Overall, I am pleased with how the cycle went and was glad to have a tough call between UVA and Duke. In retrospect, given the success, I wish I would have taken a shot at HLS if only to see. Wouldn't have ever been willing to pay sticker there, though. I also regret not applying to schools sooner. I am not sure I would have performed better, but it would have been nice to have decisions, sooner.
