2/27/07: Out of sheer curiosity I went to go check my status at the UC Hastings website. Well I'll be -- admitted on the 23rd! Funny how the school never sent me an email or notified me in any way. Sigh.

I am wishfully thinking that the big envelope you received today from Columbia is on its way to my mailbox in Colorado. I suppose that it will arrive on Friday, but there is a complication. If the envelope is of the large, but thin and flimsy variety (i.e. it can be folded harmlessly), it will be placed inside my small mailbox and I will be able to retrieve it on Friday evening after I return from skiing. If, however, the envelope is slightly more bulbous and not suitable to the old postal fold-and-stuff, a sticker with a barcode will be placed in my mailbox while the envelope itself waits in the back of the mailroom for me to claim it. The issue here is that I will not return from skiing until after the mailroom has closed for the weekend, and not being able to claim the package until Monday would make me manic depressive. So, kindly describe to me the precise malleability and pliability of the envelope you received so that I might decide whether or not skiing on Friday is a good idea. By the way, congratulations, I hope to see you in New York.

Thanks for the heads-up. I might have to tell the kindly old woman in the mailroom to stuff it...more politely.

congrats
