19FEB09 - If only LSDAS would process my last LOR then I could finally apply. It's getting down to the wire!
24FEB09 - I sent all my law schools applications in today. Now just cross my fingers, say a prayer, and hope for the best! Wish me luck!!!
02MAR09 - Recieved email from Penn State stating that my application was complete.
03MAR09 - Recieved emails from William & Mary, Vanderbilt, University of Memphis, and Northeastern stating that my applications were complete.
05MAR09 - Recieved acceptance to Penn State via e-mail!!!!!! It's my 9th choice but at least I know i'm going to law school somewhere!
06MAR09 - E-mail from George Mason stating that my application was complete.
09MAR09 - Recieved an e-mail from American saying that they had recieved my application and were requesting a LSDAS report. This worries me because my application was transmitted on the 24th of February and the report was supposedly sent the next day?
10MAR09 - I recieved an e-mail from George Washington stating that my application was complete and that due to the large volume of applications they are receiving, I should not expect a decision until early April. I also received a large envelope from Penn State with admissions material enclosed.
11MAR09 - Two law schools, Florida Coastal Law School and Phoenix School of Law, have contacted me recently via e-mail stating that they would like to offer me admittance and a merit scholarship. I did not apply to either of these law schools and wonder if there are many people who have received these offers.
12MAR09 - Recieved acceptance to the University of Memphis Law School!!!!! Two down, nine more to go. (On a side note, has anyone else noticed that law school correspondences via e-mail always seem to go out on tuesdays and thursdays?)
17MAR09 - Recieved e-mail from American stating that my application was complete. I sent my application in complete 3 WEEKS AGO! A non-refundable $500 deposit is due to Penn State in 2 WEEKS and I still haven't heard back from 9 of the 11 schools I applied to. This is ridiculous!
19MAR09 - Toured Georgetown Law School.
23MAR09 - Toured George Washington Law School. Recieved letter from the University of Tennessee stating that I have been waitlisted. I am withdrawing my UT application since I don't really want to go there anyway.
25MAR09 - Recieved letter from William & Mary stating that I have been waitlisted. I guess law schools really do only care about your LSAT score.
26MAR09 - Recieved letter from American University stating that I have been waitlisted.
02APR09 - Recieved letters from Northeastern and George Mason today stating that I had been waitlisted at both. I am withdrawing my application from Northeasten since it is ranked lower than Penn State.
10APR09 - What is going on? I'm still waiting on 4 law schools to get back to me: GW, Georgetown, Vanderbilt, and U. Maryland. I will more than likely be rejected by at least 3 of these law schools so why don't we just get it over with? Perhaps it is a good sign that they are taking so long with my application and didn't just reject it on its face. Either way, I'm tired of waiting. I need to start making plans and it is very difficult when I have no clue where I will be in the Fall. On top of that, I have to add my waitlists into the factor. W&M said they may not get back to me until mid-August. MID-AUGUST!!!! Are you kidding me?!?! Am I supposed to just drop everything in mid-August after whatever plans I've made and after all the deposits I've paid. The answer is assuredly "yes," and "yes," I would do it...but still, give me a break. I ordered a Penn State t-shirt today so I'm sure I'll go home today and there will be an acceptance letter waiting for me and I will have wasted $20. Oh well. only a little over 4 months left and then I will be somewhere.
16APR09 - Recieved rejection letters Georgetown and George Washington today. Big surprise.
30APR09 - Vanderbilt's status checker states that their decision has been mailed. I guess we'll find out soon enough. I've become comfortable with the idea of going to Penn State, who, by the way, is ranked 65 in the latest U.S. News and World Report. Up from its previous ranking of 77. The three shools I'm currently waitlisted at are now ranked in the top 50 with one school (W&M) ranked 28! We'll see what happens!!!
02MAY09 - Recieved letter from U. Maryland. Waitlisted.
04MAY09 - Recieved rejection letter from Vanderbilt.
31JUL2009 - It looks like it's going to be Penn State - University Park. I've already set up an apartment on campus and made all the arrangements for financial aid. I'm excited. We'll see what first year grades are and then think about transfering.
03SEP2009 - I'm currently sitting in the law library at Penn State. I just got done studing and I have Torts in a little while. Penn State is amazing and I am so happy to be going here. I really love law school. This will probably be my last post. I hope the information I have provided here will help someone in their law school application process. Cheers.
Knoxville admissions just called me to let me know they accepted me. I finally finalized which schools I am applying to- seven in all.
