3/2/06
In at LSU. Small envelope, letter dated 2/24.

3/6/06
In at South Carolina. Big envelope, letter dated 2/27. $13,000 scholarship for tuition equalization in the first year, will be eligible for instate tuition after that.

3/15/06
Rejected at Kentucky. I'm a bit surprised, but I had really ruled them out anyway.

Tulane and USC upped their scholarship offers to $11,000 and $20,000/yr, respectively. Gives me a lot more to think about. . . (the USC scholarship is actually 1/2 of the instate tuition rate, or 20K give or take).

8/1/06
With a WL ding at W&L, my cycle is officially complete. UGA it is!

Thanks for the congrats on my page. I definitely think you're competitive for Tulane. Your soft factors are better than mine. Best of luck to you.

I was surprised to be waitlisted. I think my GPA hurt me and they also told me that they had many more applications than they expected. Do you think I should write a letter of continued interest?

No complete notice for UGA. I dont want to look like a jerk, but I bet you will get into UGA w/$$$. I ended up WD from Tulane because the admissions rep told me it was unlikely I would get off the Waitlist because the response from admitted students has been so strong. Good luck the rest of the way brother.

Good Luck with UGA...

I'm sure you're on pins and needles for them. But with NeilMags being accepted, maybe there's hope for other splitters? Sucks that the post BA work is largely ignored... What will you do if you get accepted to UGA and get the Woodruff at Mercer?

Did you send in the seat deposit to USC? Just was looking at LSD and saw you were unsure. I am going, and looking forward to it. We did just hire a new Dean from Notre Dame, so hopefully he will help solidify things, as far as a new building and improving the school. e-mail me.... Or check my profile. Later -

That does make things very interesting for you. I see that there are others that are going to USC who married as well. Me too, with two kids. So you'd have some company there, as would your wife, they could start a club.... I went to the admitted students day and they were preaching that if you want to practice or live in SC, then USC is the place to go. I work with/against private practice atty's here in Columbia, and they tell me the same thing. "Want to practice in SC, go to USC." Later - and good luck with the decision. IMO, I look forward to not having too much debt as the decision maker. Peace -
