Additional info & updates

1/20: Accepted into Villanova via Status Checker.

Got a call from the Assistant Dean of MS College. Offered
me a full scholarship with a $1,000 stipend.

1/25: Via status checker, my decision has been mailed from
DePaul. :::Crossing my fingers:::

2/1: Accepted into DePaul with $20,000 a year scholarship.

2/5: Accepted into Ole Miss with $66,000 scholarship. This is
pretty good considering in state tution is under $10,000.

Accepted into Marquette. Got a call today about possibly
getting a fellowship with a law firm that would include a
full scholarship and guaranteed summer employment. I've
gotta rock the phone interview first.

2/11: Accepted at Univ. of Wisconsin. I'm excited about that
one because WI is my home state.

Waitlisted at Duke. That's OK.

2/23: Just got an e-mail from the Dean of Chicago-Kent letting
me know that I've been accepted.

Just got an e-mail from the University of Wisconsin
offering me a scholarship in which they would waive my
out of state tuition and offer me a monthly stipend and
health insurance. Hard to turn that down.

Accepted at Washington University in St Louis.

2/24: Got my first rejection today from Berkley but it's cool.

Got a call about the Marquette fellowship. I'm a finalist
and will be flown to Milwaukee sometime in the next 2
weeks to interview.

03/11: Visited Marquette today and interviewed for the
fellowship.

Got a call from the dean at UVA yesterday offering me
admissions and in his words "At least $30,000 in
scholarship money per year." That's very exciting.

03/13: Got waitlisted from Vandy today. :( That was my top
choice but I'm not giving up.

I predict a clean sweep with the exception of Stanford and Penn. I've heard that UVa has really been working to get some URMs to attend, so you may have some luck there. You should probably apply to some more T14 schools like GTown; they've already accepted one URM with the same LSAT and a GPA .3 lower than yours.

Thanks for the advice. I just added GTown to my active applications. I only really applied to Stanford and Penn because they both sent me a fee waiver and I figured why not.

Actually, check out Columbia and Cornell too. Columbia has already accepted one URM with the same stats. In fact, you should probably go ahead and apply to the entire T14 since you'll likely be accepted to more than one. At the very least, apply to all of CCN + Berkeley (Chicago, Columbia, NYU). I think you're selling yourself short with the schools you've applied to so far. Check out the graphs @ the top schools to get a better idea where your numbers will put you.

Also, I take back what I said about Penn. With your numbers, you have a decent shot. Definitely apply to the entire T14. No offense, but you should be crossing your fingers for Columbia and NYU, not DePaul (where you are pretty much an auto admit).

I appreciate your honest feedback. Thank you very much.

Wow. That's a really nice scholarship at Ole Miss. You'll probably be accepted everywhere with money at most places. Good luck!
