Even for an AA, this one pretty hard to believe....If it's real, wow, congrats!

This is totally ridiculous. You are getting spots at great schools with a 161 and a 3.4???? You should be going to a Tier 2 school. This is crap. Smarter people are being rejected, and you are totally unworthy.

...just to put things in perspective, there are other URMs with MUCH better stats than Elric and I who were rejected from the schools we were both accepted at. Simply put, a law school application is more than just numbers; some schools take a very holistic approach to applications. Get over it. And to be honest, judging from your small-mindedness, I can fairly guess that we'd have more to offer a student body than you would.

I didn't find much useful data or advice when applying. I made this lsn profile to hopefully give future URM applicants with ballpark area stats a better idea of what their cycle might look like with regards to the time line and the decisions made. The URM application cycle generally gets ignored in those books and advice columns for law school hopefuls, and I'll post my Law School Predictor results later just for kicks. The most useful advice I came across while choosing which law schools to apply to was something along the lines of "just go for it." The URM cycle is wildly unpredictable, but then again, so is this entire law school application process. I went in with numbers I know don't reflect my intellectual ability. Knowing this, I worked that much harder in putting together a killer application. Clearly, at least a few highly regarded law schools agreed that I belong among their ranks.

Hello, What were some of your awesome softs? When did you submit your applications? What did you talk about in your personal statements? Thanks, CMD

Thanks! I'm working on getting my LOCI's out this weekend, I'm hoping I'll hearing something from someone by June if not sooner but Georgetown and Penn are definitely my top choices right now
