Additional info & updates

June 25 - Yay just got my score, better than expected. So excited :D

Merit based fee waivers to: Minnesota, W&M, Georgetown, Duke (no PT), UVA, Cornell, Vanderbilt, Michigan, Columbia, Notre Dame, Indiana, Wash U (upon request).

Oct 29 - First round of apps done. The rest are on the back-burner for now. Imagine they say "considering applying" instead of "planning to apply." That would be more accurate.

Nov. 12 -- Got my first acceptance! Georgetown! Hopefully I'll get some more in the days/weeks/months to come, but I think I'd be really happy at GULC even if I don't :D

Also: have decided not to apply to Notre Dame, GW, or BU. They seem nice, but realistically, I don't think I'd take any of them over GULC. Still considering sending an app to Penn.

Nov. 19 - Two more decisions! W&M via status checker ("Congratulations! Admit Packet Mailed") and Vanderbilt by enormous FedEx.

Nov. 23 - Got admit packet from W&M - Graduate Fellowship (OOS difference (9k) 4k stipend) 8k scholarship. Over 3 years comes to $63,000. O.o

Nov. 29 - In at Minnesota via status checker. Or maybe not.

Dec. 3 - In at Wash U via e-mail.

Dec. 7 - In at BC by fancy email video, yay :)

Dec. 13 - In at Cornell via e-mail! SO EXCITED :D If I don't get Michigan, Cornell is probably my top choice. Invitation to apply for Dean's Scholarship, too.

Dec. 16 - IN AT MICHIGAN!!!! Definitely my top choice, SO EXCITED! In for Summer Start (which I requested). I still have apps pending, but my cycle is essentially over.

Will not be applying to UPenn.

Dec. 28 - Came home from Xmas to a package from Indiana - in with $120k over 3 years. The dean wrote me a super nice (longish) note -- I feel bad telling them I'm not going :(

Jan. 6 - Invitation to apply for Darrow. I know my chances of actually getting it are slim, but still, ridiculously excited.

Jan. 24 - Well, my streak is over. Waitlisted at Minnesota. Can't say I'm all that heartbroken.

Jan. 26 - In at Columbia! Now this decision is hard! I love Michigan, but turning down the 4th ranked law school in the country, especially when it's an hour from home, is going to be tough. Going to both ASWs, will see what happens.

Jan. 28 - Darrow. Oh my goodness. O.o. Forget Columbia, I'm going to MICHIGAN!!!!!! <3

Feb. 7 - Scholar in Law award ($84k) at Wash U.

Feb. 17 - Scholarship award from BC.

Feb 19 - In at Duke via e-mail.

Feb. 22 - WL at UVA.

March 7 - $89,000 from Vanderbilt.

March ?? - $67k from Duke.

Congrats on killing the LSAT -- looks like you and I are looking at a handful of the same schools. What's your top pick?

Not applying to NYU/Chic because I wouldn't want to go to either even if I got in.

Congrats

Congrats on your BC acceptance! Did your online status ever change to "Accepted" or did it just say " Decision Rendered" before you got the mailing? Thanks!

I know you love Michigan but how can you turn down 84k to WUSTL?!? :P

Hi Deb - I got an email about it a few weeks after my acceptance. I had to write an additional essay, and got the call about a week after I submitted that.

Thanks! And nope, not waiting, decided on Michigan. I was waiting for ASW to confirm that it was where I wanted to go, but now I'm 100% sure. No $$ from Columbia. I was invited to submit an essay to be considered for merit $$ at Cornell, but I got the Darrow before the deadline, so I never bothered to write it.
