that's pretty awesome :)
Hey, number twin! We're both applying to Columbia, I wish you the best on your cycle. Congrats on UVA and Duke!
a little creepy :P but thanks! looks like we're number twins too -- good luck!
good luck to you, too! You already have some great acceptances!
Congrats on UVA!
on all your acceptances as well! I'm with you on the hoping about the 12/3 decision letter sent
is the $62,000 that you were offered at UVA what they put on the acceptance letter? They offered it to me as well, but didn't say how much it was exactly. Congrats on Northwestern!
lol, you're right! He's rooting for Chicago or NYC (of course I would love those acceptances!). If I decide I don't want to go to UVA, I can hopefully use them to leverage money elsewhere. The more I look into UVA though...
Thanks! Congrats on your acceptances so far, too!
Congrats on Chicago!!
Howdy! I noticed we got into Chicago on the same day. Pretty exciting! I hope we both fair well in the upcoming Columbia craze.
I'm very interested to see what Chi gives us TFAers... it says 30k, but is that per year or for all 3 years? I must know!
oh man. 90k at Chicago would make my decision for me. for real.
hmm not sure what to make of you getting 30k and another tfa getting $0... I hope they don't make me wait too long for the package.
Fellow TFA alum applying. Congrats on your acceptances thus far & good luck with Harvard & Columbia. Where/what did you teach?
Elementary in the Bronx. Now at a charter.
@ the poster above: Yeah it was definitely a generous offer, but Cornell is more expensive than UVA so the total difference between the 2 ends up being about $15K- I would rather take UVA for the minimal price difference :)
Congratulations on making an excellent choice. That's a great deal of money you got there. Well done!
Congratulations on NYU! That's really really fantastic!
Congrats!! So happy for you. Sad we won't be classmates, but what an incredible opportunity for you!
ideally Chi would be more affordable - still in negotiations. Will probably end up in Chicago at one or the other. Visiting this week, so I guess I'll figure it out soon!
To the above poster: I don't think that the TFA name by itself helped me get in- I pretty much got in where my numbers said I should. That said, it did help in other ways- fee waivers, having something substantial to write about in my personal statement, etc. I don't think these are good reasons to do TFA- and not in the "zOMG you don't want to help the children!" kind of way but in a "I think it could be a bad personal decision" kind of way. If you want more info/have questions about TFA, feel free to send me a message!
As a late response to your question, I am not only leaning, but have accepted my Chicago offer. I hope you enjoy NYU. Good job on the full tuition scholarship! Truly incredible!
thanks!! I'm so excited!
Wow Impressive
as well! let's hope we keep on crying (HAPPY crying) throughout the cycle :D
