Extra Curricular Information

No legal experience to speak of; however, I have held a political internship and I will be living abroad teaching in France for a year before beginning law school in the Fall of 2012. I graduated with honors in both majors by working with a professor in each major on a joint thesis and both have offered to write a letter of recommendation.

Additional info & updates

6/28 I just received my June LSAT score of 173 which is the only time I have taken the test. I am trying to narrow down a list of potential schools for the Fall of 2012. I have lived in the Midwest all of my life but am open to pretty much anywhere for my future studies. I am looking towards studying International Law and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

11/10 I received my Georgetown acceptance letter in the mail (even in France). It was such a relief to get that first acceptance out of the way.

11/13 I received my Duke acceptance by e-mail.

11/14 I received an e-mail from Drake with an acceptance and an offer for the Opperman Scholarship which is full tuition with a $10,000 stipend each year.

12/13 Accepted to NYU by the admitted students site.

1/14 I have a couple (semi) updates, was deferred to the regular admissions pool at Cornell in late December and was held at Harvard on 1/13.

1/25 Got an email from Columbia with my acceptance letter attached saying that it was in the mail.

2/24 Waitlisted at Michigan.

3/13 Waitlisted at Cornell as well. I decided to withdraw from Cornell after a deferral and a waitlist, and I didn't like the tone that they used in the email notifications. I am currently staying on the waitlist at Michigan.

3/16 Received the IILJ scholarship at NYU which has probably made my decision for me.

3/20 Withdrew from Drake to free up the scholarship for someone else, and from Duke as well

3/21 Withdrew from everywhere, will officially be attending NYU next year! Couldn't be happier!

Agreed with the other two. You should consider an app to Northwestern. They'd give you a full ride if you ED.

Thanks all

I really hope that this ends up alright. Columbia is definitely up there on where I would go for their Int'l program, but I didn't like the vibe that I got from either of the Chicago schools, which is why I decided not to apply to them.

Thanks!

Thanks! Good luck to you too! Drake places pretty well in Des Moines, and that's where I want to practice, so I think it is a decent fit. Good luck to you too! Maybe I'll see you at Iowa!

Congrats!

Congrats on that award from Drake. Obviously with your numbers you will probably end up elsewhere though. Do you mind sharing more details on that package?

Thanks for posting more Drake info. I assumed it was the Opperman. What a prestigious scholarship! Drake is obviously lower on your list, but that is probably the best scholarship in the state and the networking opportunities that come with it are amazing.

Salut

Drake is still in the running for me, even with the NYU acceptance. There are many things that attract me to Drake, such as the scholarship and personal ties to the school. It is very much still a possibility.

Mich?

How do you get in at Columbia and W/L at Mich? That just doesn't even make sense. They've been pretty picky this cycle though from what I have seen.
